The 2020 x4 I own has a spare tire. The bed is 14″ below the back threshold. Hope this was useful.
When the spare is installed, the floor is slightly higher, and you do lose some capacity in addition to the rails. The floor is still at or perhaps just a little below the load lift, though. I think it’s a worthwhile trade-off. Here is a photo of me.
Without the spare, I estimate that the floor is raised by around 2 inches/ 5 cm. You may find images of the 2020 X4 trunk by searching for it on Google. Look at the pictures of the rails; there isn’t a spare for those.
EDIT: A long back, I took three women on an airport run. All of their baggage and carry-ons fit, piled high, even after I had to remove the boot cover! It was simple to fit in an X3, but I managed to make it work in the X4.
