Yes, quite expensive. If you don’t need a backup key fob, you can save the $480. One key fob had to be paired with the unit during installation in order for it to work. So you’re down to one now. I had to purchase another one from the bmw dealer because I prefer to have a backup.

Two years ago, my remote start from Carlink cost roughly $1,200. (no spare key). Was in Boston at the time and left my car outside; however, I have a heated garage now that I’m in Milwaukee. Still so worthwhile. As long as the car isn’t underground, where it can’t get a signal, you can start it from anywhere if you have the carlink app.
