The two cars’ engines have different amounts of power. The GTI now has 241 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, an increase of a few horsepower. The Golf R, on the other hand, has 315 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque (manual transmission) (DSG transmission).
