But other from the badging and the style of the alloy wheels, both automobiles appear similar from the sides and the back. The Baleno comes in six colors, compared to the Glanza’s five (all cars come in five colors, but the Baleno gets an additional “luxury beige” hue).
The Baleno’s cabin is black and silver, giving it a sportier appearance. On the other side, the Glanza’s cabin features a tone of beige with matte black and piano black, giving it a more upscale appearance.
While the Glanza receives Toyota’s i-Connect, the Baleno receives the Suzuki Connect (which includes 40 or so linked car capabilities) (with more than 45 connected car features).
Both automobiles share the same basic characteristics and 1197cc petrol engine. Both come with the option of a manual or an AMT (automatic manual transmission), while Maruti Suzuki refers to the latter as an AGS (Auto Gear Shift) and TKM just calls it an AMT. The stated fuel efficiency is 22.35 km/l for manual transmissions and 22.94 km/l for AMT/AGS.
The Glanza costs between Rs 4,000 and Rs 20,000 more each version than the Baleno. One explanation could be because the Glanza has a more upscale appearance and more connectivity functions, and perhaps Toyota’s brand value is stronger as well. The Glanza, however, appears to be a better value despite having a higher starting price because it is being supplied with a standard 3-year/100,000-km warranty, as opposed to the Baleno’s 2-year/40,000-km warranty.
The Baleno has an edge over the Glanza in that it can also be purchased through Maruti Suzuki Subscribe for a monthly subscription cost that starts at Rs 13,999 and goes up (which covers registration, service and maintenance, and insurance and roadside assistance).
The Glanza would be our option if we had to pick between the Baleno and the Glanza and keep the car for at least a few years.

Is the Toyota Glanza a Baleno knockoff?
Thursday saw the unveiling in India of luxury hatchback Glanza, Toyota’s take on Suzuki’s Baleno that it sources from its fellow countryman as part of their partnership.
An introductory pricing for the Glanza has been set between Rs. 7.22 lakh and Rs. 8.9 lakh.
Only two 1.2-liter petrol engine variations with automatic gearbox options are available for the Glanza from Toyota, which is present in India through a joint venture with the Kirloskar group.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki offers four different Baleno versions with automatic transmission options with prices ranging from Rs 5.46 lakh to Rs 8.9 lakh for both petrol and diesel engine options.
Masakazu Yoshimura, the managing director of Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), commented on the launch by saying, “In a dynamic market like India, it will be our constant endeavor to give a range of options to our consumers whose choices are controlled by their mobility demands and brand expectations.”
TKM offers a guarantee of three years and one lakh kilometers, which can be increased to five years and 2.2 lakh kilometers.
The Glanza has features including touchscreen audio with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone-based navigation.
Suzuki and Toyota broadened the scope of their collaboration in March of this year, adding the production of the small SUV Vitara Brezza, which Suzuki designed, to Toyota’s plant in India beginning in 2022.
Along with the already agreed-upon deliveries of the premium hatchback Baleno and small SUV Vitara Brezza, the two businesses had also stated that they were considering a practical partnership in new areas. These would include Suzuki supplying Toyota in India with its Ciaz sedan and Ertiga multipurpose vehicle in addition to the already agreed-upon supplies of those vehicles.
In addition to their relationship in India, the two partners also decided to expand their cooperation to Europe and Africa. Suzuki will also provide Toyota with the Baleno, Vitara Brezza, Ciaz, and Ertiga automobiles that are made in India for the African market.
Toyota, on the other side, will give Suzuki access to its hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) technology in India by sourcing HEV systems, engines, and batteries there. Toyota will also give Suzuki access to its THS (Toyota Hybrid System) on international markets.
