Who Makes Toyota Proace Engine

Toyota introduced the Proace in 2016 with a single 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 120hp / 340Nm and two 1.6-liter turbodiesels that offered 95hp / 210Nm or 115hp / 300Nm.

At the time, Toyota purchasers felt a little underserved compared to the Citroen and Peugeot competition, which could be purchased with two more potent variants of the same 2.0-liter diesel.

The engine lineup has evolved over time, particularly with the advent of the more recent Euro 6.2 emissions requirements, yet Toyota continues to operate in a unique manner.

The 2019-onwards Proace is available with two 1.5-litre motors generating 100hp/270Nm or 120hp/300Nm and two 2.0-litre engines producing 120hp/340Nm or 180hp/400Nm instead of one 1.5-litre engine and three 2.0-litre engines, as per the Dispatch and Expert. Oh, right.
