Since its release in the US last year, the 2021 RAV4 Prime has attracted a high level of consumer attention and involvement due to its status as the most potent and fuel-efficient RAV4.

The all-new 2022 RAV4 Prime is the most captivating vehicle in its class, and it’s debatably one of the most entertaining Toyotas outside of the Supra. The Toyota RAV4 Prime is an excellent SUV, yes. It has a powerful drivetrain, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with an above-average electric range, and good fuel efficiency ratings. What Toyota models are produced in Japan?
“Many Toyota cars sold in the US bear the proud label “Made in Japan.” For many years, automobiles produced in the Land of the Rising Sun were regarded as being of the highest caliber and having the best construction. That is still true today, but a day is coming when all Toyota vehicles sold in the United States will likewise have been produced in the region.
What does that mean in terms of what a “domestic vehicle Would Toyota still have a good reputation for quality?
Although this is far from a done deal, it is a possibility that should be given serious consideration given that the vast majority of Toyotas sold here are already produced locally.
Currently, nearly 70% of Toyota vehicles sold in the United States are produced in North America. Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Highlander, Tacoma, Tundra, Sienna, and RAV4 are a few examples. The Yaris, FJ Cruiser, and Land Cruiser are examples of vehicles made in Japan. The simplest method to ensure that every Toyota sold here is built in America is to simply stop selling the models that aren’t.
Do you really think people would miss the Yaris and FJ Cruiser? Did not believe so. Although there is a devoted fanbase for the Land Cruiser, this might be the one import exception. The Prius, which is now manufactured in Japan, may move its production to the United States in 2015.

When does Toyota cease to be a foreign brand given the amount of engineering, design, manufacture, and investment in the United States?
Does the RAV4 Prime need premium fuel?
He is a reliable source of information about Toyota in my opinion, and he has nothing to gain by speaking out.
I own a Rav4 Prime from 2021. How about petrol without ethanol? I searched for non-ethanol using the pure gas app, but it seems that there isn’t any Top Tier non-ethanol? Also, 87 non-ethanol is hard to get by; 91–93 is more common. According to a remark below, he uses Shell’s 93 Non-Ethanol. So, given all of that, what do you suggest? Continue using 10% ethanol and top tier? or higher octane and non-ethanol (not top tier) fuel? Although I anticipate what you’ll say, I still want to hear it from you. Should I also add Sta-bil to the tank considering how little gas it uses?
I’m a little shocked that you didn’t respond to my inquiry below because you have in the past. I now have further inquiries about my original query. Since the Prime can have gas sit in the tank for extended periods of time without use, others have advised using premium (due to higher octane) gas. This is because premium gas has a higher octane rating, which will keep you closer to the recommended 87 octane when the gas does degrade. I’ve also heard that European manuals advise using premium in the Prime? In addition, while I was always instructed to avoid leaving the tank half full to prevent condensation, they now advise against doing the same with the prime because it will sit for an extended period of time without being used and will eventually go bad. I have a feeling that the most recent two comments will result in a whole video about primes and gas (hint, hint) We appreciate your efforts.
That’s what he replied.
Hi! You may use stabil and premium and incur all of those extra costs and hassles, or you can just think about taking a lazy week off from charging it and cycling the gas in hybrid mode to fix any problems. Actually, that is the best course of action and the ideal answer. Nearly everything else functions.
In my opinion, the case is now closed, thus I won’t be reading any more lengthy thread arguments about the mystifying magic of gas in primes.
Are Japanese automobiles better?
The engineering and construction of Japanese automobiles is astounding. They clearly take great pleasure in their job and want their clients to have the finest driving experience possible.
Although their teams may not be very good at designing cars, they are fantastic engineers.
The jokes about American-built cars breaking down frequently and not lasting past 100,000 miles are mostly accurate. There are many exceptions, but in general, when it comes to autos, Japanese engineering is superior to American engineering.
Do Toyota RAV4 issues frequently arise?
Treat each one with caution even if this model year isn’t quite as awful as the others on the list. If you’re considering purchasing a model from this year, we advise thorough inspection. Numerous consumers have reported gearbox problems to Car Complaints, and the NHTSA has received hundreds of reports of fuel system faults. Although it might not apply to everyone, carefully review vehicle history reports.
Consumer Reports advises against purchasing the 2019 Toyota RAV4. With a dismal score of 2, reliability and owner satisfaction were rated equally. According to CR, the overall value, trunk space, road noise, and minor transmission problems are some of the greatest problem areas.
