Can a 2021 Toyota RAV4 be fitted with a trailer hitch?
Order: No welding is necessary to attach this fully welded trailer hitch receiver to the frame of your car. Steel that has been powder coated is durable and corrosion-proof.
The trailer’s crates appear to be only ornaments. I’ve ordered two hitches from eTrailer, and both of them have come in torn-up boxes with the hitches poking out. This one was scraped down to the bare metal, so I had to do some touch-up paint. Thankfully, the hitch is sturdy, so nothing was damaged. The hitch installation takes a few hours (with help from my son). We looked at a few etrailer videos, and one of them did not reduce the exhaust, therefore we took that course of action. It can be challenging to position the hitch such that the holes in the chassis line up. We initially used the box the hitch arrived in, but then converted to a jack (see photo), which was much better because it allowed for tiny height adjustments. It takes a lot of care to thread the bolts. The 86 ft-lbs of torque specified in the instructions is a lot. We turned the bolts as far as possible without ever engaging the torque wrench. Working on the passenger side is difficult and annoying, as has been mentioned by everyone. Because the hole on the torque wrench is so small, I purchased a 19mm crow’s foot. Our experience suggests that it would be beneficial to lower the exhaust to give you more workspace. Although it sits lower than the Curt hitch we installed on our Subaru Outback, the hitch looks excellent once it is on. 1295364
