(June XX, 2022): Asad Ali Memon, a 24-year-old Pakistani mountaineer, successfully ascended Alaska’s Mount Denali, which rises 20,310 feet into the sky. Mount Denali is North America’s tallest mountain and the third most visible and remote peak on Earth after Mount Everest.
Asad Ali Memon was recruited by IMC earlier this year to participate in the Denali climb as part of its CSR initiative Concern Beyond Cars. Asad is a young athlete with great promise from Larkana in Sindh. Since commencing his climbing career in 2016, he has ascended numerous summits both domestically and abroad. In 2021, he established a world record by ascending Kilimanjaro and returning in 20 hours. He will become the third Pakistani to complete the Seven Summits Challenge when he fulfills his aim.
The Seven Summits Challenge, which involves climbing the seven tallest mountains on each of the world’s seven continents, is the pinnacle of mountaineering. With this successful ascent, Asad is already more than halfway through the Seven Summits Challenge. He has already climbed the highest mountains in Europe, South America, and Africa, all in the years 2019 through 2021.
Asad sincerely thanked the Pakistani people for their prayers throughout the voyage and, in particular, the Indus Motor Company, for its support in making the Denali expedition possible in a moving video message from the summit of Denali. He stated: “This support and love give me the motivation I need to climb the world’s most difficult summits. On the 6,190-meter top, he inserted a peg to signify the end of his ascent.
In a statement regarding Asad Ali Memon’s accomplishment, IMC Chief Executive Ali Asghar Jamali offered his congratulations and stated, “Alhamdolillah, what great news this is. We refer to this as a waku-doki moment in Japanese. Pakistan may now stand tall and proud thanks to Asad Ali. It takes extraordinary strength, tenacity, and fortitude to face challenges while ascending these massive mountains in bitterly cold weather. Extreme sports are uncharted ground in Pakistan, and Toyota believes in creating possibilities for young individuals like Asad Ali to succeed and scale new heights. This belief is reflected in our CSR program. Additionally, it is consistent with Toyota’s transformational vision, “Mobility for All,” which aims to build a society that is both inclusive and sustainable.
Asad Ali Memon plans to climb Carstensz Pyramid, the highest peak in Ocean Asia, later this year as his next objective.
Saadi Abbas, the Asian Karate Champion from Lyari in Karachi, and Zainab Barkat, the star wheelchair table tennis champion from KPK, were backed by IMC earlier in 2018 as they made their way to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Indus Motor Stamps a Landmark 1 Million Vehicles Production
On May 28, 2022, Indus Motor Company (IMC) declared a historic accomplishment: it has built one million vehicles since it started mass manufacturing back in 1993.
At the factory of the company in Karachi, the one millionth unita Toyota Corolla Grandewas lined off amid much hoopla. Over 4,000 Toyota employees and representatives, including Yoshiki Konishi, who will be President-elect of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing (TDEM) starting in June 2022, joined the event.
The first Toyota Corolla, which is proudly on display at the corporate headquarters, was lined up over 30 years ago. IMC has come a long way from producing 20 just over 7,000 units annually and one model (the Corolla) in 1993 to over close to 80,000 units annually and four models today.
Since the start of commercial production, the firm has so far produced a total of 81,000 Cuore under the Daihatsu brand and 761,700 Corolla, 45,400 Yaris, 111,900 Hilux, and Fortuner under the Toyota brand.
Since its inception in 1989, IMC has been a key player in the economy of the nation, helping to establish the Pakistani automotive sector and a local engineering base while paving the road for localization.
The full value chain of the company, which currently includes part manufacturers supplying more than Rs 270 million in parts each working day to produce the best-in-class Toyota vehicles for Pakistan, can be used to determine IMC’s contribution. These vehicles are sold through a growing network of 52 authorized dealerships spread out across the nation.
Mr. Konishi congratulated the IMC team and said, “For the past three decades, our Team Toyota Pakistan has worked tirelessly to go above and beyond what our customers expect by producing high-quality, dependable, and safe vehicles that successfully overcame all obstacles. As a result, Toyota has become the most well-known and dependable brand in Pakistan. It is admirable that you are leading by example and working to advance the local auto manufacturing sector. This will undoubtedly aid in our efforts to grow the number of Toyota supporters in Pakistan. We are very certain that the Pakistani market has enormous potential, and we have big hopes for IMC.
Mohamedali R. Habib, the company’s chairman, expressed himself as follows: “Toyota and Japan have continued to be Pakistan’s most dependable allies, and only recently, we commemorated the country’s diplomatic ties with Japan’s 70th anniversary. We respect our connection and wish the people of Japan all the best. Without the ongoing help and efforts of our partners, we could not have localized to the extent that we have. I want to congratulate each and every member of my team for helping us reach this milestone and, inshallah, many more in the future.
“Alhamdolillah, for all of us at IMC, it is both a proud and a very humble occasion. It’s the fulfillment of a wish that our late Chairman, Ali Habib, had. The previous 30 years have been filled with ups and downs, but what has gotten us this far has been our tenacity, perseverance, and dedication to excellence. IMC Chief Executive Ali Asghar Jamali remarked, “We are proud of our contributions to the car industry and the country’s economy.
Regarding the forecast for the future, he continued, “By November of this year, IMC plans to increase production capacity to 76,000 units yearly after investing US$30 million in plant upgrades. By far, our greatest asset is our workforce, and I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for their commitment. We are without a doubt fortunate to have the best employees, dealers, suppliers, and a strong brand, as well as our devoted customers, who I want to thank in particular for their support over the years. At Toyota, we like to claim that rather than creating customers for life, we create customers for generations.
IMC announced a more than $100 million investment in September 2021 for the local production of hybrid electric vehicles in Pakistan, as well as for the localization of components, plant expansion, and production setup for the first HEV to be produced at an IMC plant. End
INDUS MOTOR POSTS SURGE IN PROFITS FOR Q3 FY2022
In comparison to the same period last year, the Company’s combined sales of completely knocked down (CKD) and completely built-up units (CBU) vehicles climbed by 12.7% to 18,735 units during the quarter that ended March 31, 2022. Additionally, sales grew by 33.4% to 57,637 units for the nine-month period ending March 31, 2022, compared to 42,988 units sold during the same time last year. The market share held by the corporation in terms of locally produced light trucks and cars was roughly 20.3%.
Net sales for the nine months ended March 31, 2022, climbed by 55.1% to Rs 203.41 billion from Rs 131.16 billion in the corresponding period the previous year, while profit after tax increased to Rs 15.29 billion from Rs 8.42 billion. The rise in net profit is primarily attributable to higher CKD and CBU sales as well as an increase in other income brought on by a larger fund size as a result of higher customer advances.
IMC’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Asghar Jamali, said, “Alhamdolillah, IMC’s third quarter result is truly quite positive. The new Toyota Hilux Revo Rocco and Toyota Fortuner Legender received an overwhelmingly positive response, which increased the already strong demand. Despite this, we have had to deal with growing input costs brought on by the severe depreciation of the Pakistani rupee (PKR) against the US dollar, skyrocketing global commodity prices, and an increase in the government’s FED rates for automobiles. As a result of all these considerations, the Company has no choice but to transfer the cost to our customers.
In order to combat climate change and lessen reliance on foreign oil imports, the new Auto Policy 202126 encourages investment in cutting-edge technologies like hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (P-HEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs). IMC is investing about $100 million for local production of hybrid automobiles in Pakistan based on the aforementioned incentives. We would implore the government to develop and advance consistent policies that support the sustainability and expansion of the nation’s expanding vehicle sector.
The interim cash dividend for the quarter was declared by the Board of Directors at Rs. 26, bringing the total dividend for the nine months ending March 31 2022 at Rs. 90.5 per share.END

Speaking about his opinions, Ali Asghar Jamali reaffirmed IMC’s long-standing commitment to “Concern Beyond Cars” and giving back to the community, saying, “Pakistan’s healthcare system is one of the country’s pressing concerns and hospitals like the SIUT are doing a lot of good work helping thousands, especially the less fortunate, with high-quality healthcare for free.
It is an honor for us to have established a lifelong partnership with SIUT, which enables us, as a socially responsible firm, to play a part in giving back to our people. Dr. Adibul Rizvi is one of the most well-known and respected personalities in the health field.
IMC continues to be steadfast in its commitment to the welfare of worthy communities through the implementation of a variety of need-based corporate social responsibility programs in collaboration with respectable organizations. Ali Asghar Jamali, the Chief Executive Officer of IMC, said, “I appreciate the NFEH’s efforts to raise public awareness of corporate social responsibility and thank them for this honor and distinction. Such venues are necessary for the business world to both promote its CSR initiatives and gain inspiration from those of others.
He continued, “We have a moral responsibility to assist the underprivileged and improve our communities. Education, as I always say, is the single most powerful force for change in Pakistan, and our flagship Toyota Goth Education Program is a significant step in that regard.
IMC has been actively involved in initiatives to improve the lives of people in the communities surrounding the business, such as the Toyota Goth Education Program, which is run in conjunction with The Citizens Foundation, the Saylani Welfare Trust’s free food distribution and medical clinics, Karwan e Hayat’s free psychiatric clinics, and, most recently, the Al Ibrahim Eye Hospital’s Childhood Blindness Prevention Program. These populations will also gain from free food handouts during Ramadan. End

Additionally, it is consistent with Toyota’s SYI and transformative vision, “Mobility for All,” which calls for the development of a more diverse and sustainable society in which everyone is able to overcome their obstacles.
Asad Ali Memon expressed his gratitude to Indus Motor for enabling him to realize his dream of becoming the first person from Asia and the first person from Pakistan to conquer all seven summits. My ultimate goal is to make mountaineering a popular sport and to assist young people in training for and pursuing careers in this very extreme activity.
Two national athletes, Saadi Abbas, the Asian Karate Champion from Lyari in Karachi, and Zainab Barkat, the star wheelchair table tennis champion from KPK, were backed by IMC earlier in 2018 as they prepared for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.END
