How can the brake light be changed on a 2003 Toyota Corolla?
My friend informed me that my passenger-side brake light was broken some time ago. (I travel in a Toyota Corolla from 2003.) This should be a straightforward DIY project, right?
So I went to Kragen Auto Parts and bought a set of stop light bulbs. (Price: about $6) The employee told me he couldn’t help me because individuals had been suing them for mistakes they had made when I inquired how to alter it. (Harsh.)
Stop Brake Shops is the next stop. Thankfully, one of the mechanics was kind enough to replace it for me and demonstrate how to do so. Did I need any equipment? Nope.
- Opening the trunk
- Examine the region behind the tail lights.
- It is really open. Left-turn the afflicted lightbulb socket. You won’t be able to break it without using some force.
- When it is unlocked, you can remove the lightbulb.
- Put the fresh bulb in place.
- Push the socket in, then spin to the right to put it back in its spot. It’ll secure back into position.
- Verify the brake light’s functionality by testing it.
I hereby disclaim all liability for any harm you may cause to your vehicle. For your benefit, I just wrote down this procedure.
