The driver can choose an automatic locking and unlocking sequence for the doors in any Toyota vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission and a power door locking system. There are four different modes available.

Step 1
Mode 1 connects the shift position with the doors’ automatic locking (only). Moving the shift lever out of park locks all the doors when they are all closed and the key is in the “On” position.
Step 3
The automatic locking and unlocking of the doors is connected to the shift position in mode 3. Moving the shift lever out of “Park” will cause all the doors to be automatically locked when all the doors are closed and the key is in the “On” position. All of the doors are automatically unlocked when the shift lever is shifted back into “Park.”
In mode 4, the shift and key positions are connected to the doors’ automated locking and unlocking. Moving the shift lever out of “Park” will cause all the doors to be automatically locked when all the doors are closed and the key is in the “On” position. All of the doors automatically unlock when the key is switched off and the shift lever is shifted back into “Park.”
Step 4
Push and hold the driver’s side power door lock switch for around five seconds after turning the key “On” in the car.
To show which mode is in use, the dome light will flash. Mode 1 is indicated by a single flash, Mode 2 by two flashes, Mode 3 by three flashes, and Mode 4 by four flashes. Push the lock switch until the light flashes to show that the desired mode is operational before switching to it.

Your ignition key needs to be removed. Close and reopen the driver’s door twice in the next 40 seconds. One more time, put the key in the ignition and take it out. Fortunately, it’s a short and simple process. Avoid being locked out of Evergreen Park without a functional key!
Replace the batteries inside the key fobs
If you haven’t changed the battery in the key fob(s) in a while, do so now before continuing. When you try to reprogram a key fob with a defective battery, it can be a real pain. The batteries are often inexpensive and simple to replace. If you are unsure how to change them, consult your owner’s manual.
Get inside the car
With your car keys and the remote in hand, go in the driver’s seat and lock all the doors. Closing the doors is crucial because if you leave one open, it can disrupt the procedure.
Turn on the ignition
Once seated, turn the key to the “On” position in the ignition to turn the electrical systems on. Do not start the engine and double-check that the ignition is not in the radio mode.
Press the lock button on the remote key
Turn the key back to the “Off” position while holding down the lock button on the fob. At least three times, go through this process, finishing with the key in the “On” position. A remote key fob needs to be associated with your vehicle particularly in order to be secure.

Standard programming sequence
Your key fob can typically be reconfigured by following this typical procedure:
Instead of starting and then returning to the locked position, turn the key into the run position. Repeat this multiple times.
You’ll typically hear a chime or other sound when you’ve cycled the key enough times. At that point, you can push the lock or unlock button on your key fob to hear another chime.
What causes my Toyota to repeatedly lock itself?
As a mother of a toddler, I’m used to the car automatically locking and unlocking when my son toys with the key fob while I unload the groceries. It’s a completely other story, though, when the car locks and unlocks itself.
Vehicles typically lock and unlock themselves as a result of electrical problems with central locking systems. A defective actuator that is losing electrical signals is typically to blame. Sometimes, worn-out cables or a defective door sensor will independently engage and disengage car locks.
The majority of locking system issues need to be diagnosed by a mechanic, however you can look into the issue to determine the specific cause. Below, you’ll find the answers you need to frequently asked questions about auto lock problems.
The Toyota RAV4 automatically locks?
There are so many innovations and features in modern cars that it’s simple to miss some of them. In this post, we’ll examine the 2021 RAV4 and some of its features, many of which you probably weren’t aware of.
The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 is one of the most well-liked SUVs available for a variety of reasons.
It offers many different engine options, such as a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid, plenty of space for passengers and cargo, a full range of standard safety systems, and a ton of fascinating features.
There are some of these traits that are well recognized and visible, but there are also those that are less obvious and that you probably weren’t aware of.
The RAV4 has a few choices for customizing the automatic locking and unlocking of the doors. By default, the doors lock when the vehicle reaches about 12 mph (20 kph), although they can unlock when the gearshift is in park (P).
When you switch from P to D or R, the automatic lock feature can be modified to lock the doors. Additionally, the auto-unlock feature can be modified such that opening the driver’s door requires pulling the interior handle.
You must first hit the Menu button on the infotainment screen to enter the Setup, Settings menu, then scroll down to Vehicle Customization, tap it, and then select Door Lock Settings.
A little Prius-inspired innovation dubbed S-Flow is included with the RAV4. In essence, it greatly improves the effectiveness of temperature control by sensing the number of passengers within the car and adjusting airflow accordingly.
Additionally, when Auto or S-Flow modes are used, a solar sensor mounted on the upper side of the instrument panel senses the position of the sun and assists in directing more cold air to the side of the car that is being hit by more sunshine.
It’s not a new feature, but I bet few owners are aware of it because this kind of sensor has been used for years in numerous vehicles, including earlier iterations of the RAV4 with climate control.
The quantity of cargo space you receive in this SUV is one of the primary selling points. You occasionally have to transport products that stain the carpet in your cargo area because they are dirty or moist.
The problem can be fixed by purchasing an all-weather mat, which Toyota dealerships provide for about $300.
But Toyota designers were clever enough to provide a cool alternative if that’s too expensive and you haven’t had time to buy an aftermarket one. In order to prevent the mess from being lodged in the carpet, the floor deck is specifically reversible, allowing you to easily flip it from the side covered in carpet to the side made of heavy-duty plastic.
The 2021 model of the fifth-generation RAV4 has all of these features and is currently on sale at dealerships for a starting price of about $27,500 for the base LE grade with front-wheel drive.
How can I re-set the central locking on my Toyota Yaris?
It’s likely that a fresh battery will solve the problem if your key fob isn’t unlocking the doors. The key fob can easily be opened by grabbing the sides and pulling inward. The front of the key fob should pop off the back if you press down firmly enough. You can see a battery inside if you look inside. You’re good to go after changing the battery.
Power door locks that work as they should are frequently taken for granted until anything goes wrong. It can be a significant annoyance if they break. Fortunately, identifying and resolving the issue isn’t too difficult.
