When will a 2023 Sequoia go on sale?
Like the enormous, majestic redwood trees it is named after, the brand-new 2023 Sequoia is certain to leave an immediate, lasting impression. The three-row SUV is completely brand-new and was designed from the bottom up with the intention of enhancing the full-size sector with opulent comfort, stunning technology, and breathtaking performance from a modern hybrid powertrain. At the summer of 2022, the third-generation, completely redesigned 2023 Sequoia is anticipated to arrive in dealerships.
The potent twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-Force Max powertrain, which will generate 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque, is standard on every 2023 Sequoia. i-Force Max’s smartly designed powertrain includes a distinctive motor generator inside the bell housing between the twin-turbo engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission, so it’s not simply big on power. The combination of maximum performance and greater efficiency is made possible by this design. The SR5, Limited, Platinum, and Capstone trim levels of the 2023 Sequoia will be offered in 2WD or the optional part-time 4WD. The transfer case used by the part-time 4WD system is managed by a lever on the center console, which can switch between 2WD, 4WD High, and 4WD Low. Only 4WD models of TRD Pro will be offered.
The independent front suspension of the 2023 Sequoia will use a new rack-mounted electronic power steering system for better steering sensation. A contemporary multi-link rear suspension is used to provide a comfortable ride and give customers who frequently tow the option to add available load-leveling rear height controlled air suspension and adaptive variable suspension.
The 2023 Sequoia is more adaptable thanks to the variety of seating and cargo combinations. Second-row passengers can choose between captain’s seats or benches, both of which recline for extra comfort or to make room for heavier cargo items. The third row receives one of the most notable new features on the all-new Sequoia: the unique Sliding Third Row with Adjustable Cargo Shelf System. Third-row passengers benefit from a roomy reclining backseat with optional power folding. With a 6-inch range of adjustment, the third row can slide thanks to this segment’s debut function. Additionally, the third row can be folded down to accommodate the new system’s various storage placements.
Towing trailers, boats, or RVs is high on the list of functions that full-size SUVs must be able to perform! The brand-new 2023 Sequoia performs admirably in that regard as well, with a maximum towing capability of an astonishing 9,000 pounds. That is a rise of about 22% from the previous generation! Don’t worry if the prospect of towing scares you. The Sequoia has interesting technology that makes towing less intimidating. A number of features are included in the Tow Tech Package, which is available on all trim levels but standard on TRD Pro and Capstone. These features include Trailer Backup Guide to help drivers back up an SUV pulling a trailer and Straight Path Assist to help drivers maintain control of the trailer as they back up.
The abundance of cameras that provide numerous exterior viewpoints and can all be viewed from the available 14-inch touchscreen or the available digital display rearview mirror increase the view all around this outstanding new SUV. Trailering enthusiasts will value the Panoramic Perspective Monitor, which shows a top-down view of the SUV and its surroundings. Having many viewing choices increases your sense of security when towing a trailer.
The Sequoia will come in five grades, including SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and the brand-new Capstone grade, and will provide all the room families require. Every grade has a distinct appearance and atmosphere. Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, a sunroof, heated seats, a 12.3-inch digital dashboard display, and a Panoramic View Monitor are all included as standard features on the well-equipped SR5. A power third row, a hand-free liftgate, and a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display are available when upgrading to the SR5 Premium package. The TRD Sport package, available on SR5 models, replaces the factory-installed 18-inch wheels with 20-inch matte black TRD Wheels and adds springs and Bilstein monotube shocks designed for TRD sport performance.
The SR5’s standard heated/ventilated front seats with memory settings, a heated steering wheel, a power-folding third row, and a hands-free power liftgate are all standard on the Limited trim, which improves on the SR5 with a clear focus on additional convenience. Standard second- and third-row manual sunshades are also included with Limited. Both the SR5 and Limited 4×5 models come with the TRD Off-Road package, another Sequoia first choice. The TRD Off-Road package’s configurable locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain select, and Downhill Assist Control improve off-road capability. Crawl Control, which serves as an off-road cruise control for 4WD Low’s low-speed trail navigation, is a standard feature. TRD Off-Road also includes Multi-Terrain Monitor so that you can keep a closer check on the trail difficulties.
Families with a sense of adventure who frequently want to venture off the beaten path should consider TRD Pro. The TRD Pro contains high-end equipment like standard second-row captain’s chairs, a heated steering wheel, and TRD accents on the seats and shifteritems that are not just for off-roading. In addition to providing a comfortable on-road ride, TRD-tuned FOX internal bypass shocks are also capable of handling challenging off-road terrain. The Sequoia will proudly display a “TOYOTA” grille with an incorporated TRD Light bar and marker lights toward the top, similar to previous TRD Pro models in the Toyota lineup. Additionally, it has higher offset to offer a wider stance as well as black 18-inch TRD alloy wheels that are PRO-specific.
When you upgrade to Platinum, it’s obvious that extra attention was paid to comfort and premium equipment, like front and back row heated and ventilated seats, second-row captains chairs, a standard 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio System, a standard panoramic sunroof, a Head-Up Display, and more! Sequential turn signals are also installed, along with premium LED headlights and taillights. The Platinum trim also includes standard Qi wireless charging and rain-sensing wipers.
The Capstone grade, which stands at the top of the Sequoia lineup, builds on Platinum’s excellent features and adds even more first-rate features to create the most opulent Sequoia ever. It will have distinctive chrome highlights for an upmarket appearance, with the standard 22-inch chrome wheels being the most striking element. These wheels are a first for Sequoia and are only available from Capstone. Power running boards, semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats, and other premium amenities
LED mood lighting, real American Walnut inserts on the center console and passenger-side dash. The sole Sequoia grade, Capston, has acoustic glass in the front doors for additional exterior sound deadening, making the cabin even quieter.
White, Wind Chill Pearl, Celestial Silver, Lunar Rock, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Blueprint, Army Green, Midnight Black Metallic, Smoked Mesquite, Supersonic Red, and the TRD-exclusive color Solar Octane are just a few of the many hues that will be available for the 2023 Sequoia.
