When the passenger seat is moved forward, there is a space at the front of the bed, which I filled with two storage bins and a few pillows on top. If I wish to return the passenger seat to a seating position, this is simply removed.
Buy a memory foam
Purchase an 810 cm thick memory foam mat to place on top of your bed frame. My foam was cut to my height. I keep my water bottle and my coolbox in the area under my feet on the passenger side.
Put a beautiful bedsheet over the foam. Bring your feather duvet and pillow, and you’ll never be cold. Just in case it gets very cold out, or if I decide to stay somewhere else, I always have my sleeping bag with me.
I keep my Colman Stove, backpack, foldable camp chair, and emergency food cans below the sleeping platform.
Install Rain Guards
I spent money on a set of rain shields, sometimes known as wind deflectors, for my Toyota RAV4 for my most recent lengthy northern road trip. I purchased a brand-new, dark blue bathroom curtain with blackout material on the back from a thrift shop.
I made three 80 cm broad panels and stitched a seam on each side. I picked up a few bags of office clips at the Dollar Store to hang the drapes with. The curtains can be opened and closed in only a few minutes and a few seconds, respectively.
Storage for the RAV4 camper conversion
I use plastic crates, plastic storage containers, string bags, and nylon pouches for part of my clothing as storage in my RAV4 camper. I purchased each container from Walmart.
- 1 plastic storage container for dry food, measuring roughly 43 cm by 30 cm by 35 cm high. This container fits between the seat’s removal fitting. The bottom of the container gets smaller. It functions as my nightstand, where I keep my solar lamp, flashlight, and other nighttime essentials.
- Three black crates that are roughly 46 cm by 43 cm interlock to prevent movement. (Interlocking is not required.) All of my kitchenware, including pots, pans, dishes, and cutlery, are kept in one container; my camera and electronic gear are kept in another; and more food, cans, and other items are kept in the third.
Perhaps using solid containers with lids instead of crates to keep the dust out would be a better solution.
- The net storage shelf in the Toyota RAV4 You might want to construct a shelf in the back if your car doesn’t already have one there. I adore my RAV4’s easy addition. I store the remainder of my clothing, rolled-up jackets, a tripod, a plastic dish container, and any other items that require storage on this net shelf. I keep my solar lamp on the shelf during the day so it may be charged by the sun.
