The DMV has stopped informing drivers of Cuomo’s extension in recent weeks and has instead only been informing them of their impending expiration date.
According to a recent notice, “The necessary annual New York State inspection is due by 10/31/2020 for the registration indicated below.”
Drivers in the state are permitted to renew their licenses online without going to a DMV office, but they must visit a licensed eye doctor to have their eyes examined.
