What Is The Difference Between Porsche Panamera Models?

Porsche will now offer an astounding 12 different variants of its flagship luxury sedan according to the Panamera Exclusive Series, which was unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Panamera, which Porsche initially unveiled in 2009, has had strong sales growth and is now able to compete with vehicles like the Aston Martin Rapide, Bentley Flying Spur, and Maserati Quattroporte.

The several Panamera versions could be hard to distinguish from one another, like many of the company’s other models. The Panamera, like the Porsche 911, differs significantly from one version to the next, but in very minor ways. Porsche now offers several Panamera models in the US, available in two distinct sizes and with a choice of five different engines.

What Panamera model should I purchase? (Comparison of Models)

The question of “Should I Get a V8 or a Turbo V8” or “Should I Get a V6 or a Twin Turbo” or “Panamera vs. Rapide vs. Quadraporte vs. RS7” is one that I frequently see on various boards. So, in order to address all of these inquiries, I made the decision to compile some significant car evaluations in order to assist everyone in making the best decisions possible. Here are a few reviews of the Panamera. Watch each movie, then make your own decision.

Cargo, Comfort, and the Interior

The Panamera from Porsche has a driver-focused interior that seems and feels just as opulent as its high price would have you believe. The vast list of basic features is typical for the class, but as with any Porsche, there is also a sizable and expensive list of optional features. The upgrades range from leather-covered climate control vents to a fire extinguisher to massaging chairs. Ventilated seats, soft-close doors, four-zone automatic climate control, and a power-operated rear sunshade are more prevalent options. The sport chairs with 18-way adjustment are our favorites. The Panamera’s low seating position gives it a sports-car-like appearance. Additionally, even for tall drivers, the inside is roomy. Back legroom on executive vehicles is comparable to that of a limousine. The touch-sensitive buttons for features like the climate control are all around the center console, giving it a high-tech appearance. Unfortunately, we find that using this all-touch interface while driving is fiddly and challenging, although you rapidly get used to it. With 18 cubic feet of cargo capacity, the Panamera also offers a lot of storage space.

How many different models of Porsche Panamera exist?

Porsche Panamera Models for 2019 We’ll walk you through the various variants of this chic luxury sedan here at Porsche Delaware. There are a total of seven 2019 Porsche Panamera variants, and each one has amazing capabilities and characteristics of its own.

The Panamera is it a genuine Porsche?

The 2022 Panamera is a delight to drive thanks to its responsive handling and comfortable ride, especially when fitted with the optional adjustable air suspension. Additionally, it offers the comfort and luxury that one would expect from a pricey four-door hatchback. Every Panamera has a boosted engine, but only some are designated as Turbo. We examine each of those models in turn. A 325-hp turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 is included in the standard rear-wheel-drive Panamera and all-wheel-drive Panamera 4. The 440-hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 under the hood of the noticeably faster 4S model accelerates it from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. You can get a 473-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 by upgrading to the GTS. Although it has the finest handling of the non-Turbo models, its suspension trades some ride quality for handling. Porsche also sells plug-in Panameras, the 4 E-Hybrid and the 4S E-Hybrid, both of which have powertrains of 455 and 552 horsepower, respectively. The new Taycan should be considered by buyers looking for an all-electric Porsche.

What about the Porsche Panamera’s dependability?

In our 2021 What Car Reliability Survey, Porsche came in a disappointing 25th place out of 30 automobile manufacturers. In the same study, the Panamera placed ninth out of the top 10 vehicles in its category. Porsche’s warranty isn’t mileage-based like some other brands’, but it does expire after three years unless you pay extra to extend it.

Are Porsche Panamera repairs expensive?

We looked at how frequently the vehicle required major unplanned repair over a three-year period to determine the frequency of major maintenance. This “serious” maintenance item is a costly system breakdown that needs to be repaired (often a part or component costing above $1,000).

It should be emphasized that even while we analyze this data by make and model, driving style, vehicle condition, and mileage undoubtedly affect outcomes. Different frequencies of maintenance are needed depending on the vehicle. While newer cars can go longer between services, older vehicles may require more frequent maintenance.

The frequency score can be used to determine how long a vehicle can go without maintenance. A frequency score reveals how frequently a certain vehicle needs major repair over a three-year period. If an automobile has a maintenance frequency score of 3, for instance, it needs major repairs every year because the score is calculated over a three-year period. The longer it can go without major maintenance services, the closer the frequency score is to 0.

The frequency score of a Porsche Panamera is 6.540000000000001. This indicates that the Porsche Panamera performs much worse than average given that the industrial average is 1.3. The breakdown of all manufacturers and models is shown in the chart below.

It’s important to note that there are many trustworthy cars that could also need frequent, yet reasonably priced maintenance. For instance, many domestic brands have higher maintenance visits but lower overall costs (since labor and parts expense are typically cheaper for domestic brands). This doesn’t imply that cars break down less frequently, but it does show that when they do, the problems are usually fairly simple to remedy, which is perhaps even more significant.

What distinguishes the Panamera 4S from the GTS?

The 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 engine in the 2019 Panamera S can produce up to 440 horsepower. This engine offers the same level of performance as any other available engine in the luxury automobile category. A slightly improved 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 engine with a maximum output of 453 horsepower is offered in the 2019 Porsche Panamera GTS.

What distinguishes the Panamera 4 from the Panamera 4S?

The 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 in the Base, 4 and 4 Executive generates 325 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine in models with the 4S designation is modified to produce 443 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque.

What Porsche Panamera trim levels are there?

  • Panamera 4 and Base.
  • Porsche 4S and 4E-Hybrid models.
  • Porsche 4SE-Hybrid and GTS models.
  • a Porsche Turbo S and a Turbo S E-Hybrid

Panamera GTS has a turbo, right?

The Porsche Panamera GTS’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine is the same as the one in the Turbo, but it might not be a good idea to map it to Turbo power levels.

We typically know what to anticipate from Porsche GTS models by this point. The same formula has been used repeatedly: the German company starts with a ‘S’ model, slightly increases the power, slightly modifies the chassis, makes some typically optional components (like “PASM” adaptive dampers) standard equipment, and then tops the car off with a scattering of sporty-appearing black trim pieces. And, of course, a royal festooning of GTS badges.

Imagine our astonishment when Porsche unveiled the new Panamera GTS, equipped instead with a twin-turbo V8 rather than a somewhat more potent version of the 4S’s V6.

Even the two twin-scroll turbochargers are the same; Porsche simply reduced the boost pressure from 1.3 to 0.8 bar, resulting in a reduction in power and torque from 568 lb ft to 457 lb ft and 542 bhp to 454, respectively.

It would presumably be feasible to have a remap performed to increase the pressure, but that would not be a good idea. The transmission is altered, even if the engine is the same other than the map and a new resonator designed to transmit more noise into the cabin. Due to the lower torque output, the higher-rated PDK automatic gearbox used in the Turbo and Turbo S E-Hybrid Panameras is not required, so Porsche chose a lower-rated version instead.

But why use a V8 when the tried-and-true GTS recipe calls for the V6 from the 4S in the first place? That’s easy. The second reason is that we can have a lot more torque [than if the V6 was used] – 100Nm more. “We opted to utilize the V8 since the V8 is the more emotional engine, you’ll hear the sound when you drive the car,” Bogl said.

He said, “The V8 is the best engine for the GTS.” When the driving impressions embargo lifts in the middle of the following week, we’ll let you know whether or not we concur.

Describe the Panamera S.

The 2022 Panamera Turbo S features Porsche’s sports spirit in four-door style, featuring a potent turbocharged engine and a striking road presence. The Panamera Turbo S sedan’s twin-turbo V-8 engine, which boasts 620 horsepower, is located up front, in contrast to the legendary 911 sports vehicle. When you choose the more costly Turbo S E-Hybrid, output increases to 689 horsepower. Due to this, the Panamera Turbo S can compete with other potent sports sedans like the Audi RS7, BMW M5, and Mercedes-AMG GT63. Even though it lacks the natural balance of the 911 and 718 Cayman, handling is nimble for a vehicle of this size. However, the Panamera outperforms other more narrowly oriented vehicles in terms of passenger and freight capacity. Consider the Panamera Sport Turismo station wagon, which we separately analyze, if you require even more space for cargo.
