Porsche 997.1 GT3 2007-2009
The 997.1 GT3 followed, and at this point Porsche had successfully incorporated the GT3 family into the legend around the 911. What made both 996 incarnations so outstanding is practically translated into the first 997-generation GT3: more power, more downforce, less weight, and more grip. It should come as no surprise that most of the 996 GT3’s technology, including its superb 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six, is carried over into the 997 911, which is a development of the 996.

Porsche didn’t want to waste any time and unveiled a new iteration of the fierce GT3 road-legal racer at the start of 2021.
