Let’s face it, the Taycan is an incredible sports vehicle that completely lives up to our first expectations of Porsche. And when I say fantastic, I mean both able to break one’s neck while accelerating fully from a stop and able to plant itself on the pavement like it’s on rails.
When it comes to recreating a car or conceiving one from scratch, Rain Prisk, one of today’s best pixel manipulators, provides such a solution.
From where I’m standing, his concept of a potential Taycan supercar gives me the McLaren vibes. Despite this, the front end, or what can be seen from this angle, reveals that the artist began with the regular Taycan and progressed to the wedge-shaped design that suggests a mid-mounted powerplant.
And this is when things become complicated. There is no ICE to put behind the driver in a fictitious supercar version of the Taycan because it is an all-electric sports car. This indicates that the electric motors would need to be mounted on each axle, but the battery pack could still sit there, improving weight distribution.
