My main concern is that during the three incidents, I had to wait for tow trucks eight different times because Roadside Service kept dispatching flatbed tow trucks despite my repeated reminders that, according to every tow truck operator, the 911 4S cannot be placed on a flatbed unless the engine can start because there is no way to move the gears out of Park and into neutral without the engine running. This car can only be towed using a tow lift and dolly.
I was informed that the tow truck operators were mistaken and that the car could be put into neutral by the service representatives at a nearby Porsche dealer, the GM of the service department, and the head technician. To demonstrate, they all brought me outside to the car, but they all fell short.
One of the instances when the car wouldn’t start was when the engine died as I was waiting at a red traffic light. Before the second tow truck showed up, I waited more than 2.5 hours. During that time, we were unable to move the car to the side of the road since it was in Park and could not be put in neutral without starting the engine. Catch 22.
Imagine if the engine had failed in a motorway or at an intersection with a lot more traffic than I was in. I believe that this is a seriously hazardous design error, but I want to know what the forum thinks. Am I overlooking anything here? Porsche has corrected the immediate starter issue, and they have even offered to pay me for the difficulties we have had with our new car, but they don’t seem overly concerned about the towing/Park/Neutral issue, and they have essentially not reacted to my inquiries.

When my 2018 Macan S is near the end of one of those car washes where you pull the car by tire rollers, I have to put my foot on the brake for a brief period of time while I shift the car into Drive, and then I have to pull away.
That makes sense, I suppose, as a safety precaution. But I don’t like doing this, especially in places where the end doesn’t have a great downward slope that causes the car to roll away a little. Without a good slope, I don’t like using the brakes, even for a few seconds.
