Just so you know, the 2021 models include the new “Porsche Mobile Charger Plus” for FREE, even if you don’t order the “Connect” version of the car (the one that costs money). My 2021 is currently being built, so I had questions for my dealer about this just like you are asking. They confirmed with Germany that the new “Porsche Mobile Charger Plus” comes with the car for free and comes with a 14.5 foot cable, a NEMA 14-50 plug (level 2 charging), AND a NEMA 5-15 plug (level 1 charging)… can switch them out. It’s not a smart charger (i.e. doesn’t connect to WiFi), but I literally spoke with my Simply ask your electrician to install a 50 Amp NEMA 14-50 plug in your garage, allowing you to charge at a speed of 9.6 kw at 40 Amps.
Personally, I’m going to install a third-party charger in my garage instead of using the Porsche Mobile Charger Plus, which costs more than $1,200 (as others have noted above). Brands to consider include ChargePoint, Enel-x juicebox, ClipperCreek, Grizzl-e, etc. Personally, I think I’ll choose the ChargePoint Homeflex design. Next month, an electrician will come to wire me up so that I’m ready when my automobile arrives in the middle of April.
