My automobile has a launch control, but I have no idea how to use it; I’ve read the handbook, but it doesn’t seem to work. What am I overlooking? Additionally, while using launch control, am I correct in assuming that you must attempt to time it to the timings of the lights, i.e., activate a few seconds before you anticipate the lights turning green? more importantly, how do you disable when activated? (in case you see a cop )

The dual exhaust on the Macan Turbo produces a sound appropriate for a Porsche of this caliber. For the Turbo, Porsche includes the Sport Exhaust System as standard equipment, making the exterior noise appropriate. To experience the full effect, though, you do need to be in the right frame of mind. To alternate between the quiet and loud modes, press the exhaust button on the inside. A bassier and gravellier tone than the typical clean soundtrack is heard when the volume is turned up. It enhances the overrun with some pops and crackles, and we observed that engaging the Sport Plus drive mode released even racier noises. Redline is at 6,800 rpm, and as it fast approaches it, the pitch quickly reaches higher and higher octaves.
Naturally, it sounds much nicer outside than it does inside the cabin. Much of the fury is muffled when you’re in the driver’s seat, leaving you with sounds that are much more commonplace. Although burbles and crackling occasionally turn their backs on the driver, people outside the automobile are enjoying a lot nicer noise than those inside (the same could very much be said of the Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid). On high throttle, a few intake whooshes and turbo noises can be heard in the cabin, but you have to be paying close attention to notice them. As things stand, it would be good if Porsche could make the Turbo’s interior more dramatic. Of course, with a turbocharged engine and all the sound deadening that makes the Macan Turbo so serene and quiet on the highway, that might not be conceivable, and we definitely wouldn’t want additional speaker noises. However, the ears of Stelvio Quadrifoglio owners are much happier.
Is Launch Control exclusive to Sport Chrono models?
I had a S Diesel demonstrator for the weekend, so I quickly glanced through the manual even though I had the assumption that launch control was only available with the Sports Chrono option. It appeared to suggest that launch control was accessible when you touched either the Sport or Sport Plus button, which may suggest that it was accessible on all Macans.

Guys, I also mistakenly believed that launch control was only available with the Sport Chrono Pack, but when my Turbo arrived, I learned otherwise. Put the car in sport, depress the brake, floor the throttle, then let off of the brake and hold on tightly to activate. I can assure you that this is a ton of fun, especially at the Maccy D’s drive-through (I jest of corse) This is Burger King.
Point and go is a good maneuver to try while pulling away from a junction, but turning at the same time is much better!
Does the center dial on the dashboard display the message “Launch Control Activated”? Turbos might have it even if they don’t have Sport Chrono.
Can anyone who drives a diesel and doesn’t have Sports Chrono vouch for your launch control? You could possibly save me PS750.
