The Panamera is the sole sedan produced by Porsche at the moment. And
Autocar revealed speculations of potential additional Panamera versions earlier this year, including a two-door coupe and a convertible. Also surprisingly, executives at Porsche “have not rejected” these rumors. Porsche should use a convertible Panamera as the foundation for a truck. Because the business didn’t need to reinforce the chassis more, BMW decided to convert convertible M3s to pickup trucks. Due to the lack of a roof, the automobiles already had additional bracing built in because they were convertibles. In essence, all Porsche would need to do to create a Panamera pickup would be to remove the convertible’s back seats and add a bed.

An Truck-like Approach to the Taycan
Adel Bouras, a French auto designer who has gone out of his way to create a pickup truck that is in accordance with the distinctive sleekness that the firm highlights on its inventory, is one individual expecting that Porsche would at least consider making a pickup truck. The outcome? The 2019 Porsche Traykan is a four-door electric vehicle that combines the word “truck” with the Porsche brand.
Despite the Traykan’s much more streamlined appearance than the Taycan’s rounder shapes, particularly on the front end, it’s a clever play on words. However, the grille’s menacing grin suggests that the Traykan isn’t just passing by for fun.
Imagine if a Traykan was following a Cybertruck instead of Porsche’s Tesla-chaser Taycan.
The aggressively designed (and even electric!) trucks that are soon to be available include the Rivian R1T, Hyundai Santa Cruz, and the true show-stopper: Tesla’s Cybertruck. The truck market is likely to look very different as a result. We feel somewhat protected after having seen all three in one way or another and can think about this crazy-looking Porsche truck without performing a spit-take.
Enjoy Adel Bouras’ imaginative and artistic rendering of the Porsche Traykan. The name seems to be a combination of the terms “truck” and “Taycan,” with a “k” substituted for edge, and it plays off the svelte and seductive Taycan electric sports cars. Even so, the truck’s front actually more closely resembles a Cayenne; the Taycan’s smooth duckbill front end isn’t very visible here. With a quadrant of precise LED accents, the headlights borrow from contemporary Porsche design doctrine, but the light bar that connects them is an intriguing new feature.
However, the Traykan’s low-slung roof and sculpted body lines, as well as its bulbous back end and full-width taillights, pay respect to the Taycan. The presence of exhaust ports at the back suggests that this potential car is not entirely electric. You can use your imagination to think of them as phony outlets. You are you. This vehicle has an off-road-ready and clearly conceptual appearance because to its large wheels and high ground clearance.
Is a pickup vehicle from Porsche in the works? Most likely not, but it is actively working on a potent EV offensive. The company intends to produce an electric Macan starting in late 2022, as well as an electric Boxster and Cayman. On the new PPE platform, which will support a variety of electric vehicles in the future years, Porsche is collaborating with Audi. Although a truck would be a wonderful addition to any Porsche plan, it’s probable that it will remain in our dreams for the time being.

A pickup has Porsche ever produced?
Millions of pickup trucks feature front-mounted engines. Then there are vehicles with rear-mounted engines. Do you, however, recall ever seeing one with an engine in the center?
It’s likely that there are only two vehicles like this 1972 Porsche 914 pickup truck in existence. It was transformed in the 1970s by the renowned southern California coachbuilding company Troutman & Barnes, which is arguably best known for constructing the Scarab Grand Prix and Le Mans vehicles of the late 1950s and early 1960s. The car is currently owned by Myron Vernis of Akron, Ohio.
Vernis claims that the company created one for its own use and a second one for the Anaheim, California-based parts and wrecking company Aase Brothers Porsche. Troutman (or Barnes) may have purchased a wrecked Porsche 914-6 from the company and told Dave Aase that he intended to convert it into a pickup truck.
The agreement was completed when Aase requested that he also adapt another 914, their less potent 914-4 model, into a second pickup. By the way, the taillights are from an Opel Manta.
The 914 pickup was featured in VW Trends magazine with adult entertainer Renee Vaughn standing on the car. The wrecking firm utilized it as a shop truck and parts carrier. It was brown at the time, and the firm was promoted on the back quarters.
Vernis has been after this car for 15 years, but he’s just had it since June. It has subsequently been painted red. Additionally, he has what he delicately refers to as the “disease” of collecting uncommon pickup trucks based on cars.
He also has a Ford Durango, for example. That truck, one of 212 produced by National Coach of Los Angeles with Ford’s approval to replace the cancelled Ranchero, was created in 1980 and 1981 from a Ford Fairmont coupe. However, the Durango’s engine is located where it usually is. the pickup 914? Not really.
Here are pictures of Kevin Jeannette of Gunnar Racing’s Porsche 914-6 pickup built by Troutman & Barnes.

A Porsche Taycan is what?
The Porsche Taycan is a battery-powered electric sedan and shooting brake made by the Porsche car company in Germany. The Porsche Mission E, a concept version of the Taycan, made its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. The Taycan was unveiled at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show in full production-ready form. Which Porsche SUV is the least expensive?
One of the most recognizable sports-car manufacturers of all time, Porsche still produces luxurious cars that people want to buy. Porsche has something for everyone with its selection of cars, SUVs, and electrified vehicles, all of which boast exceptional driving dynamics, exquisitely designed interiors, and broad customizability.
The least expensive way to get into a Porsche is with the Macan compact SUV. The Macan has the driving characteristics befitting the emblem gracing its hood despite being the entry-level Porsche. The starting price is in the mid-$50,000 level.
Most Expensive: Starting at almost $220,000, the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet places a heavy price tag on mind-boggling performance.
The majority of Porsche models provide an exhilarating driving experience; even the Cayenne and Macan SUVs are enjoyable to drive on your preferred winding route.
Most Popular: Porsche’s top-selling SUVs are still the Cayenne and Macan. The Cayenne came in second place to the Macan in terms of sales in 2020.
Best Fuel Economy: The Porsche Cayenne and Panamera plug-in hybrid models introduce electrification to the equation and enable them to utilise power for short distances. The Taycan outperforms previous Porsche models with an EPA-rated 79 mpg-e, but not being as efficient as comparable electric vehicles.
As soon as a car is released, we want to test and rank as many of them as we can. We’ll rank new models as we periodically update our rankings and we might even change the scores for some models. Vehicles with insufficient testing data, however, are not scored.
What makes the Porsche Taycan unique?
Porsche’s first-ever fully electric vehicle is the Taycan. It has the appearance of a real sports vehicle and, more importantly, it handles like one. It comes in the form of the Taycan Turbo S, a vehicle that uses the amazing instantaneous power from its battery to provide breathtaking acceleration. The Turbo S can reach 100 km/h from a standing start in an amazing 2.8 seconds thanks to its Launch Control feature.
The Taycan’s handling and performance have astounded the automotive journalists all over the world. Even though we had to start from scratch, Georg explains, “that didn’t mean we couldn’t benefit from all the experience we had in designing drive systems and chassis design.” The Taycan’s low center of gravity is considerably lower than that of the 911 because the battery is located beneath the car. It is specifically designed to bring out the best in the Taycan when navigating sweeping curves and winding roads.
“The Taycan was built using our suspension, steering, and other capabilities. When you drive this automobile, you can immediately see that its creators have experience creating sports cars.”
The Porsche Taycan has proven to be both a fascinating glimpse into the future and a vehicle deserving of the Porsche badge on the front.
Tesla more swift than Porsche?
Two of the fastest vehicles on the road are both of them. Because of those powerful electric motors, they both accelerate more quickly than the quickest race cars and super vehicles. Both have incredible 0 to 60 mph times. Although Motor Trend and others have timed the Taycan Turbo S at 2.4 seconds, it will go you from 0 to 60 mph in 2.6 seconds. The Tesla finishes in 2.3 seconds, which is a very small difference.
