Wheels from a Nissan on a Dakota?
I thought I’d bring this to the notice of anyone who might be considering purchasing Nissan Frontier, Xterra, Pathfinder, or wheels in the hopes that they will fit their Dakota. Despite having the same 6 x 114.3mm (6 x 4.5″) bolt pattern, they cannot be installed without adjustments. You can observe that the Nissan’s center hub size is 5.4 mm too small to fit on a Dakota by clicking the link below. Although the hub might be bored out, why ruin a brand-new set of wheels? Aaron, I’m glad you found this and it was helpful. This dispels any uncertainty I had about whether or not our Dakotas will accept wheels with the same bolt circle diameter.
In the past, I have successfully used wheels with the same bolt pattern but a larger hub opening than necessary on my vintage Chevys. With no actual support from the center hub, it would have put a lot more strain on the wheel studs, in retrospect.
They were worried they got the wrong rims because I wasn’t driving a ford, but they fit fine. That reminds me, I need to get some new tires before I start driving in the snow. Has anyone ever used FALKEN tires? I had trouble finding what I wanted when I bought my rims and tires last year. But it turns out the rims I got were made for a ford F150.
Crashed Ice
I came across some information in my unsuccessful hunt for a set of winter rims that were reasonably priced, and I want to run it by the local experts.
