Nismo separates its work into four categories: body, engine, interior, and inspection. Nismo describes its restoration technique as the “visualization of performance as the consequences of restoration.” Nismo measures the torsional rigidity of the body in white, measures the body’s dimensions, and then repaints the complete shell. Benchtop performance evaluations and a complete breakdown and rebuild of the engine are performed. There are other engine modifications available. For peace of mind, Nismo performs a final inspection after the restoration is complete and permits a professional driver to perform a shakedown on a private track. The inside can be refurbished using R35 GT-R material. It is encouraging to see that JDM classics are receiving the attention they deserve, with producers like Honda releasing parts for the S2000.
Bringing Back Another Icon?
Naturally, I’m referring to Nissan and the Skyline GT-R. Nissan has had well-publicized financial issues in recent years, but despite these difficulties, the company has done a remarkable job of maintaining its performance car lineup.
The first new Z vehicle since 2009 has recently arrived, yet it retains much of the fundamental features of the Z34 while sporting an improved engine and more contemporary design.
But what about the GT-R of the future? The once-dominant R35 GT-R is nearing the end of its production run, and based on all indications, a replacement is unlikely any time soon. not one with an internal combustion engine, at least.
The R35 will likely be the final gas-powered GT-R due to its high development costs for Nissan, the situation of the market, emissions rules, and the impending requirements outlawing all gasoline-powered vehicles. What if, though, there was another choice?
The R34 Skyline should return if Nissan decides to do so, as the rendering’s creators refer to it as the R36 Skyline GT-R.

Fans of the Nissan GT-R are enjoying their Tuesday. Nissan resurrected two storied hues from the R34 Skyline GT-R: millennium jade and midnight purple, along with the announcement of the 2021 GT-R T-Spec limited-edition.
True believers will remember that midnight purple initially came from the R34 V-Spec while millennium jade was the color of the R34 GT-R V-Spec II Nur. This is definitely your greatest opportunity to park a Nissan GT-R V-Spec II Nur finished in millennial jade because there were only 156 of them made. Regarding midnight purple, it’s a variation on the original shade, which was once known as midnight purple III. Only 132 R34 GT-Rs and 100 R35-generation vehicles were produced by Nissan in the color purple in 2014. The gold Rays aluminum alloy wheels on the T-Spec complement the purple’s dark green undertone.
The T-Spec, which stands above the GT-R Premium but isn’t quite as extreme as the GT-R Nismo, does receive carbon-ceramic brakes and brake air guides as leftover equipment from the Nismo. The package also includes body-color exterior accents, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and T-Spec emblems. Oh, and to go with either exterior hue, there is a new inside shade called Mori Green. And once everything is said and done, the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 with 565 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque is housed under the hood.
Before shipping and taxes, the special edition’s starting price is $138,490, and Nissan said this production run will be “extremely restricted.” GT-R enthusiasts, get moving.
The Skyline will it ever come back?
On October 11, 2017, a battle-car known as the 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 was made available as licensed DLC. It made a comeback in the Fast & Furious Bundle after being decommissioned in December of 2019.
