The Distance to Empty function’s accuracy is how accurate? My wife drives our 2005 Nissan Altima, so I haven’t done much driving in it. When we travel in a few weeks, I’ll definitely play around with it a bit. Just interested what other people have experienced with it? Run out of fuel with 20 miles remaining, or drive 20 miles past the 0 mile mark?
I’m simply interested how the Altima is calibrated as my mother-in-law ran out of gas in her Tahoe with 15 or 20 miles left, according to the computer.
Although I don’t regularly run the tank that low, I prefer to be aware of the limit in case I ever find myself between gas stations (and so I can make sure my wife doesn’t frequently approach it!)
I suppose it has some “idiot proofing”—say, a gallon or two remaining with “0 miles” before empty?
