Last week, I traveled to Japan to test drive the Nissan GT-R; this week, you can read more about the car’s capabilities in the magazine (there is no doubt that it is a monstrous machine). But while I was there, I made a startling discovery: this new Nissan is incredibly affordable in its home market, not just when compared to how much it costs here, but also when compared to its Japanese competitors.
The new GT-R is priced at 7.7 million Yen (31,000) in Japan, a Porsche 911 Turbo at little under 20 million Yen, and the new M3 at about 12 million Yen (48,000). Even the Corvette Z06, which was formerly the least expensive “supercar” available for purchase in Japan, costs more than the new GT-R at just under 9 million Yen.
It’s similar to contrasting a 20 Casio watch with a Rolex Daytona to compare the Corvette Z06 and the new GT-R in terms of technical sophistication and development expenses. There IS no equivalent. Nissan Japan, however, is adamant that it will continue to make money on every single GT-R it sells, even those that are purchased for 31,000 yen in Japan.

How many GT-R models exist in Japan?
Nissan, a Japanese carmaker, has launched the GT-R flagship supercar in its home nation for 2022. It comes in two limited-edition models: GT-R Track Edition and Premium Edition T-Spec.
The luxury four-wheeler’s custom style and fresh paintwork are among its attractions. It is powered by a 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine behind the hood.
The 2022 Nissan GT-R is available in two variations, each of which features a sculpted bonnet, swept-back headlamps, unique badging, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and quad exhaust tips. They come in Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple colors.
While the GT-R Track Edition has a carbon fiber roof and boot lid, the Premium Edition T-spec variant has bronze Rays forged alloy wheels.
A 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with a 6-speed DCT gearbox with paddle shifters and all-wheel drive powers the 2022 Nissan GT-R. The mill produces 565hp and 633Nm. There is also a more powerful variant with 591 horsepower available.
Semi-aniline leather seats, a center console that separates the driver and passenger regions, pearl suede details, a dashboard with a quilted Alcantara finish, and a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel are all included in the 2022 Nissan GT-R’s opulent interior.
It has an infotainment system with a touchscreen and support for the most recent connectivity features. There are numerous airbags to protect the occupants.
The 2022 Nissan GT-R has a JPY 10,828,400 starting price in Japan and is only available in 100 units. In this year’s October, the second half, the car will go on sale.
The cost of the R32 GTR Japan?

The R32 GT-R that Skaife drove to victory in the Guia classic support race at the 1991 Macau Grand Prix was constructed by Taisan, according to V8 Sleuth.
While the car currently has the same livery as its 1991 JTCC campaign, its Watson-sponsored outfit for Skaife’s drive in Macau used a completely different white, green, and yellow color scheme.

Once they have gone through the importation process, these cars can be purchased and sold in the same manner as any other domestic U.S. vehicle. Where things can become complicated is with this import tariff, as TopRank notes. As the import market for automobiles continues to heat up, the existing import duty rate of 2.5 percent may change.
There is a flat $5,500 price for export from Japan and import into the United States, said Sean Morris, owner of TopRank. Additionally, transportation to their California dealership is included in this set price.

Japanese automakers are forced to develop innovative technologies and designs first in domestic automobiles because Japanese car owners prioritize innovation above long-term ownership. For instance, Honda’s Variable Cylinder Management made its debut in the 2003 Honda Inspire. However, VCM, which had a bad image from Cadillac’s attempt in the 1980s with the V8-6-4 engine, was absent from the 2003 Honda Accord V6, which had the same basic car and was primarily aimed for the North American market. The Accord V6’s facelift for 2008 saw the successful introduction of VCM.
The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) put safety-related limits on JDM cars in 1988, limiting them to 280 horsepower (PS) (276 hp) and a top speed of 180 km/h (111.8 mph). The speed limit of 180 km/h (111.8 mph) was maintained despite the removal of the horsepower cap in 2004.
