Does every Mitsubishi Outlander have a third row of seats?
A third row is uncommon in small SUVs, and there’s a good reason for that: Very few people can actually fit in such a cramped area. Kids are present, of course, but they typically require a child seat, which does not fit in the back.
Therefore, the use case is as little as the actual seats. There are just two three-row small SUVs, the 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan and the 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander, which is understandable. Although I haven’t seen the Tiguan in person, the image above was taken when a 6-foot-3 automotive journalist was squeezed into the third row of an Outlander. It isn’t appealing. And it includes the middle row being completely pulled forward. Also keep in mind that headroom is bad; it’s not only a problem of legroom.
This test is obviously absurd and harsh. Ultimately, the third row’s inclusion almost probably enables the Outlander to have greater cargo space than the industry average (and the mechanically similar Nissan Rogue), even if it also makes it less spacious than the CR-V, RAV4, and Tucson (more on that coming soon in a luggage test). It’s essentially an added bonus, so if you can make use of it, excellent!
Additionally, it is a vast improvement over the original Outlander third row. Specifically, the second-generation device, whose construction was so embarrassingly fragile that it would have been unreliable even in the late 2000s. It was made out of a mesh cloth that was dragged over a steel tube ring. It didn’t look like something that belonged in a moving car, more like a beach chair.

Similar to the Creta, the list of features includes standouts like ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and front parking sensors. The cost of this added length and row of seats is pretty high, but the Alcazar, which is cozier and more powerful, serves the family well even in its base-spec Prestige trim.
With the dependability of the Hyundai name behind it, the Alcazar makes for a safe purchase for anyone wealthy enough to afford it.
MG Hector Plus 2 (Rs 13.62 lakh to Rs 19.60 lakh)
The MG Hector Plus is offered with either six or seven seats, with the latter not costing significantly more than the original Hector SUV’s five seats. It has two engine options: a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 143 PS and a 2.0-liter diesel engine with 170 PS, both with the choice of a 6-speed manual or one of two alternative automatic transmissions.
Large, roomy seats and a smooth ride over rough roads are features of the Hector Plus. With the gasoline engine, it even receives a proper 48-volt mild hybrid system. The MG Gloster is the largest vehicle in its class in terms of size. Additionally, it has the strongest 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine in the market. However, those aren’t the main justifications for getting this car. The active safety features like blind-spot recognition and automatic emergency braking are the real deal.
While the SUV performs admirably on smooth ground, the suspension really shines while driving over potholes. However, the Gloster is simple to drive and secure when operated in a sophisticated manner.
