What is Apple CarPlay?

With Apple CarPlay, you can utilize compatible smartphone devices with the in-car entertainment system. The most frequent application of this is to use the speakers in your car to play music from your phone’s applications. The name “Apple” may have given you a hint that this system supports iPhones. The corresponding function for Android phone users is Android Auto.

Can my 2014 Lexus have Apple CarPlay installed?

One of our regular customers came in with his 2014 Lexus GS350 to have Apple CarPlay on the factory radio enabled on his phone. He wanted to know whether we could add that option to his car after seeing how cutting-edge features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to connect your phone and utilize phone apps on the radio in other cars.

BeatSonic brand integration products have been utilized by us for a long time, notably with Lexus and Toyota vehicles, so we have a lot of faith in their durability. Their harness, which plugs directly into the vehicle’s harnesses without any cutting or splicing necessary, was used to attach their integration module to this vehicle. Additionally, we were able to incorporate the factory USB connector for charging and connecting to the phone. The new feature worked well after the installation, just as though it had been a factory option.

The 2018 Lexus GS 350 is Apple CarPlay compatible.

Manufacturers usually give me a week to use a vehicle before replacing it with a new one. Although this period of time is brief, it is long enough for me to conduct some research.

Having said that, I can usually tell what a car is good at and bad at (and occasionally ugly at). Thankfully, “ugly” and “GS” aren’t interchangeable.

A clever sliding armrest on the GS may be opened and closed to lock into various configurations. The USB ports and a spot to store your smartphone are inside. Without giving up the benefit of the armrest, you may simply use the phone. That matters to drivers because they occasionally have to choose between two options.

The power seat extender, the power-adjustable headrests, and the one-touch open sunroof are additional attractive amenities. The motorized tilt and telescopic steering column was very useful. A fold-down rear seat is one element that is lacking. A middle pass-through has taken its place, which is useful for carrying long objects like skis or a floor lamp.

Safety is a priority.

Today, the industry as a whole places a high focus on safety. This is advantageous. Better still is when cutting-edge driver-assist safety gear is included as standard equipment.

Unfortunately, a lot of manufacturers only provide these functions in pricey package upgrades. Not so, though, with Lexus. In fact, the “Lexus Safety System+ Package” is included with the 2018 GS. Pre-collision technology with pedestrian recognition, all-speed dynamic radar control, lane departure warning with steering assistance, and intelligent high beams are all included in this package.

Individual safety features, such as a heads-up display and lane maintain assist, are available to improve your driving experience (see point No. 3). These tools collectively represent Lexus’ transition to autonomous driving.

Let’s take a look at tech.

Is there a weakness with the Lexus GS? Yes. That would be due to its technological limitations, as no Lexus device supports smartphone compatibility with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Apple CarPlay is reportedly coming to select Lexus products in 2019, but not necessarily all. Users on Android will have to wait.

The absence makes logical given that Toyota/Lexus takes great care to ensure that the Entune suite does not jeopardize user information. Android should follow once they are assured of that.

Siri Eyes Free is what you do get. Again, only Apple iPhones can use this tool. The 12-speaker system that comes with the normal audio setup is fine, but the Mark Levinson option is truly amazing.

Only Response: * CarPlay compatibility is only available on 2018 LC, LS, NX, RC, and RC F models as well as 2019 NX, RC F, and ES models (without factory navigation) built before October 2018.

The 2018 Lexus GX is Apple CarPlay compatible.

In essence, the GX 460 is a Land Cruiser.

The J150 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is not offered for sale in America. It provides a similar, opulent feeling to the Toyota legend despite being less expensive and luxurious than the J200 we get.

The seating is cozy. The height of the ride is dominating. The cabin has lots of room. Extremely quiet. You get the desired build quality and off-road capability, and hey, it’s 600 pounds lighter, $30,000 or more cheaper, and (slightly) more fuel-efficient.

In other words, the GX 460 is the Land Cruiser that customers claim to want. As a result, Lexus sells roughly three times than many GX 460s as it does Land Cruiser/LX twins combined.

There is merit in owning a seasoned Lexus off-road vehicle, but perhaps not when you’re paying for a new one.

The GX460 exudes a ton of classic off-roader vigor. Heavy steering goes hand in hand with being heavy (if not quite Land Cruiser heavy). It leans forward under strong braking and backward when you slam on the pedal. It floats around a little in tight turns. The ride over the potholed pavement can be a little stiffer than you expect. Although it isn’t significantly more powerful, the V8 is smoother than the 4Runner’s V6.

Many people will appreciate the lovely throwback that is the GX. Just be careful while transitioning from a GX 460 to a contemporary truck. You might feel dizzy from the time trip.

The Lexus LX is Apple CarPlay compatible.

Apple CarPlay (Wired & Wireless) + Android Auto (Wired & Wireless) + HDMI + Front & Rear View Camera Interface 20162021 Lexus LX570 (J200).
