The Lexus LFA is a two-seat sports car made by Lexus, the premium automotive division of Toyota (Japanese: LFA, Rekusasu LFA). It is the first solo Lexus F model and the second model in Lexus’ F marque line of high-performance cars, following the IS F. At the North American International Auto Show, three concept versions were shown, each bearing the LF-A moniker as a member of the LF Series concept series. The initial LF-A concept debuted in 2005 following the start of development in the early 2000s (under the codename TXS), and a second idea with a more fully furnished interior and exterior debuted in 2007. In 2008, the LF-third A’s iteration with a roadster body style made its debut. In October 2009, the Tokyo Motor Show hosted the unveiling of the production model, designated LFA[3] by trademark. [4] The “Apex” of the LF line of vehicles is represented by the “A” in the production LFA nomenclature, according to Lexus. [5]
The LFA was an opportunity for Akio Toyoda, CEO of parent firm Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), to establish a global icon for the Lexus brand and represent Toyoda’s philosophy that the ideal Lexus should connect with its owner.
[6]
The Lexus LFA’s production model has a body constructed of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and a 412 kW (560 PS; 553 horsepower) V10 engine created in partnership with Yamaha specifically for the vehicle (CFRP). 65 percent of the mass of the LFA’s body is made up of CFRP components. [7] The LFA began manufacturing in the latter part of 2010. [8] [9] One of the most costly Japanese road vehicles ever produced made its dbut in 2012[10] as a circuit-tuned variation. [11] 500 vehicles were built through December 2012, with a Nrburgring Package model serving as the last vehicle. [12]
Alain Uyttenhoven, head of Lexus Europe, said there wouldn’t be a new LFA replacement anytime soon in February 2016.
[13]
After selling three LFAs in 2019, Lexus still had four LFAs available as of 2020[update]. Despite the fact that the LFA’s production ceased in 2012, two were nevertheless sold in March 2020 and another in September 2020. [14] [15] [16]
What vehicles do pimps operate?
A pimpmobile is a huge luxury car that has been modified in a flamboyant, expensive, kitsch or campy style. These vehicles are typically Lincoln, Cadillac, Buick, or Chrysler models from the 1960s, 1970s, or 1980s. The trend is primarily American in origin.
Car owners employed aftermarket accessories to flaunt their riches and status, including headlamp coverings, hood decorations, pricey sound systems, exotic paint colors, and interiors with shag carpet. These specialized cars, which were once derided[1], were favored by pimps, drug dealers, and gang leaders in the ghettos of American big cities in the late 1960s, early 1970s, and early 1980s, particularly in New York City, Kansas City, Chicago, Oakland, and Los Angeles as a sign of their wealth and authority. By the 1990s and 2000s, pimpmobiles comprised any sizable, lavishly customized car, including SUVs and trucks from domestic and foreign manufacturers, including Mercedes Benz, Infiniti, Lexus, BMW, Range Rovers, Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley, Audi, and Volvo.
Super Fly 1972 was filmed where?
In New York City, filming took place from January through the middle of April 1972.
[3] The movie was financed by two directors: Sig Shore, who produced Super Fly and played Deputy Commissioner Riordan, or “The Man,” in the movie, and Gordon Parks, who had previously directed the 1971 blockbuster Shaft.
[4] A lot of the blaxploitation movies were made by big corporations, and Super Fly is no exception. A white producer produced the movie, which Warner Bros. acquired and released (Shore). Gordon Parks Jr., who served as director, and Phillip Fenty, who wrote the screenplay, were both African-Americans who contributed to the production.
For the movie, Nate Adams oversaw the costume and fashion. Ahead of Super Fly, he performed in a number of fashion shows. Many of the outfits, shoes, and fedora hats are still his.
Before the movie’s filming, Charles McGregor, who plays Fat Freddie, was sprung out of jail. Director of photography James Signorelli, who later worked as the film section director for Saturday Night Live, photographed the movie.
Eddie’s on-screen actor Carl Lee found stardom on television until he started abusing drugs, particularly heroin. He overdosed and passed away in 1986. Curtis Mayfield’s score for the movie was so favorably acclaimed that other soundtracks requested him. Late in 1972, the singles “Freddie’s Dead” and “Title Song,” each of which sold over a million copies, rocketed to the top of the Pop Top Ten chart.
The movie made about $4 million in revenue. Shore obtained the most of the earnings because he contributed the most money, 40%, and the remaining earnings were divided among the performers, the filmmakers, and the writers of the script. The soundtrack alone brought in nearly $5 million in revenue, making it one of the first movie soundtracks to do so. The biggest songs, “Super Fly” and “Freddie’s Dead,” were largely responsible for this success. Mayfield was the only other member of the team that contributed to the soundtrack and made money that was comparable to Shore’s.
Despite the controversies surrounding Super Fly’s drug use, African-Americans achieved great progress during the film’s filming. Super Fly had financial support from the Harlem neighborhood, and other black businesses contributed to the cost of production. The technical team, which was predominately non-white and the largest non-white technical crew of its era, was another aspect that set Super Fly apart from other blaxploitation movies. An extremely significant amount of money was ultimately invested in such an independently financed movie. [5]
