However, I will point out that this range is sufficient for a trip from Chicago to Indianapolis, with 70 miles of fuel remaining. Short road trips therefore shouldn’t be a problem with home charging at either end, even with some bad weather added in.
Available AWD
Front-wheel drive will be the default drivetrain, but all-wheel drive will also be an option. Obviously, weights and capacities will vary based on the drivetrain, even if many of the specifications are still unknown. We do know that only the FWD model has a range rating of 250 miles, thus the AWD model will have a lower range.
We also know that the maximum power output will be slightly different for FWD and AWD variants, coming in at 150 kW and 160 kW, respectively. Additionally, the total power will vary somewhat, coming in at 71.4 kWh and 72.8 kWh, respectively.
How does it compare to the RAV4?
The bZ4X and the RAV4 are frequently compared, and it’s simple to see why given their comparable profiles. However, I’ve also heard that it resembles the recently released compact Corolla Cross more so than the RAV4 in terms of size.
With the exception of height, the bZ4X is bigger than the RAV4 in every dimension. Compared to RAV4, bZ4X is roughly 3 inches longer and has a wheelbase that is around 6 inches longer.
Additionally, the weight of the battery pack has made bZ4X around 1,000 pounds heavier.
It gets cool tech
Although the outside may resemble the RAV4 a little, the interior is noticeably more contemporary, and it will be the second Toyota-badged car to receive the new infotainment system. By 2025, Toyota wants to globally release 15 all-electric vehicles, not all of which will have the “bZ moniker. There will only be seven bZ vehicles produced worldwide, and it is improbable that all seven will be exported to the United States. Toyota will offer 15 EVs, although not all of them will be available in the United States.
When can you get it?
Although the bZ4X won’t be available until 2023, dealers will start to receive them in 2019. Toyota just states that it will go on sale in the middle of 2022, which is vague as usual for an all-new car. Therefore, it might be anytime between April and September.
The bZ4X will be marketed all throughout the United States, in contrast to the earlier RAV4 EVs, which were only meant to be purchased and utilized in California.
