At the 2010 New York Auto Show, the entirely redesigned Kia Optima, which shares a platform with the Hyundai i40, known as the Kia K5 in China and South Korea, made its introduction. Two alternative ignition types were available for the third-generation Optima. On some, the ignition is installed with a turn key on the steering column. In some models, the start button is on the dashboard and the keyhole is inside the glove box.
