Anyone with knowledge of what VQ actually stands for? To be quite honest with you, I believe that someone who worked in Nissan’s R&D department decided to call these engines “VQ” because it sounded pleasant and catchy when they got up one morning and were having their coffee.

Does the Q50’s engine match the GTR’s?
A twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter V6 petrol engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission powers the Q50 Eau Rouge performance car, Infiniti revealed at the Geneva automotive show.
That sounds somewhat familiar because it is the same as the 3.8-liter engine used in the Nissan GT-R (except from the transmission).
The 3.8-liter engine in the Nissan supercar produces 404kW of power and 628Nm of torque. It is able to produce 418kW and 600Nm in the Infiniti Q50.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in around four seconds and reach its top speed of about 290 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds.
Although the manufacturing of this vehicle has not yet been announced, Infiniti seems sure that it demonstrates the direction the company is going.
