The Kia Telluride is 196.9 inches long and 78.3 inches broad, whilst the 2022 Hyundai Palisade measures 196.1 inches long and 77.8 inches wide. The Hyundai Palisade has a cargo volume of 86.4 cubic feet and a passenger volume of 155.3 cubic feet.

Surprisingly, the engine performance between the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade is identical. The same 3.8 Liter V6 engine with 291 horsepower is included in the 2021 Telluride and 2021 Palisade. This three-row SUV has exceptional power, and since both have the same engine, there is no difference in this area.
There is a little difference between the Kia Telluride and the Palisade in terms of cargo space. The Telluride offers up to 87 cubic feet of capacity when all seats are folded down. You can still get a wonderful 21 cubic feet of space behind the third-row seat even if you want to pack your Telluride full of people. Though not by much, these parameters are superior to the Palisade’s available space. When all the seats are folded down, the Palisade has just about 86.5 cubic feet of total cargo space and roughly 18 cubic feet behind the third-row seat. Therefore, the availability of cargo space is quite unlikely to influence your choice, but if you’re really torn, it might.
The 2022 Hyundai Palisade is the Kia Telluride’s Hyundai-branded twin, albeit they are fraternal twins because the Palisade receives the Telluride’s
Two of the very best midsize SUVs on the market are the 2022 Hyundai Palisade and the 2022 Kia Telluride.
Cabin Area
How much space you need in your SUV is a different factor to consider when you try to choose between these two models. Although both vehicles are three-row SUVs, the Telluride provides more overall passenger room than the Palisade. The Telluride has a passenger volume of 178.1 cubic feet, whereas the Palisade has a volume of 155.3 cubic feet. If you’re driving a long distance with friends or taking the kids back and forth from school, the extra capacity may be quite useful.
If cargo volume is more important to you, the Telluride also prevails in this matchup. When the two rear rows are folded down, all trim levels offer 87 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the first row, 46 cubic feet behind the second row, and 21 cubic feet of space behind the third row. In contrast, the Palisade has 18 cubic feet, 45.8 cubic feet, and 86.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity behind the third, second, and first rows, respectively.
Is this a result of the Telluride being the larger car? It is, but only barely; the Palisade just makes better use of its available area. The basic Telluride LX, for instance, has dimensions of 196.9 inches long, 68.9 inches high, and 78.3 inches wide. Without the side mirrors, the Palisade is 196.1 inches long, 68.9 inches high, and 77.8 inches wide.
Our View
Although Kia’s largest SUV is a terrific value and a great family car regardless of how it is set up, the top Telluride trims come with premium features and all the latest tech niceties. The spacious and comfy cabin is a strong selling point for young families turned off by minivans, as is the vehicle’s contemporary, muscular design. The Telluride’s beginning price is far less than that of similar vehicles like the Toyota Highlander or Honda Pilot, which is another major selling point.
This year’s update to the Hyundai Palisade makes an already outstanding three-row SUV even better. It has one of the class’ most upmarket interiors, with high-quality trimmings and stylish design cues that lean toward luxury. The base V6 engine provides excellent acceleration and a quiet ride, and the ride is pleasant and well-behaved. Finding one that suits your needs and budget is simple thanks to a variety of five trims. A 12.3-inch infotainment display and various active safety systems are included as standard equipment to keep the family safe.

However, the Palisade’s main appeal is the amount of legroom it provides. Legroom is available in 44.1 and 42.4 inches (1,077 mm) in the front and middle rows, and 31.4 inches (797 mm) in the third row. To put things in perspective, there are around two inches less of legroom in all three seats of the larger, more expensive Cadillac XT6. The typical load capacity, with all rows up, is 18 cu ft (509 liters). Using one-touch buttons located beneath the third row, you can fold the third and second rows to enlarge the volume to 45.8 (1,297 liters) and 86.4 cu-ft (2,446 liters).
Telluride: The inside dimensions of the Telluride are the same as those of the Palisade, with the exception that the panoramic moonroof causes somewhat less headroom. But the similarities stop there. The Telluride adopts a leather-only, all-black aesthetic. It feels incredibly luxurious in this market, at least until you step into the Hyundai, according to my colleague Kyle.
The infotainment system and instrument cluster are stacked as separate modules, which disrupts the design flow even though the cabin is tastefully decorated. The leather seats are comfortable, but they don’t have the Palisade’s lavishness. However, the matte wood finish is gorgeous. Kyle also mentions the “large expanses of harsh plastic on rear doors is a bit of a downer,” and I concur that it lessens the cabin’s overall luxury impression.
Despite being much smaller than the first two rows, the third row is not at all unpleasant. Regular and above average-sized adults can fit in the back with 31.4 inches of legroom. Additionally, a two-hour travel in the third row should be tolerable. In addition, the third row’s legroom (in both) and access and egress are superior to those of the Toyota Highlander and Mazda CX-9.
Conclusion: Despite having nearly equal interior dimensions, the Telluride and the Palisade have very different cabin atmospheres. The Kia delivers a luxurious interior with a more traditional appearance. Although leather, wood, and plastic are used extensively, the overall quality impression is diminished. The Palisade, on the other hand, goes above and above to give its residents the most luxurious experience imaginable. Its personality is enhanced with a simple dash design and large areas of cream leather. That makes it the undisputed champion in this field.

Are the engines in the Telluride and Palisade the same?
The two models share a few significant characteristics. This is due, in part, to the fact that Kia and Hyundai share many of the same automotive technology since Hyundai became the parent company of Kia in 1998. For instance, a 3.8-liter V-6 engine with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque powers all Telluride and Palisade trim levels. Each features an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive as standard equipment; all-wheel drive is an option.
The vehicles also have comparable drivetrain options and security features including safe exit assistance, parking distance warning, and blind-spot collision prevention. The Kia Telluride, however, has a few advantages over the other two models that give it a slight advantage in the fight for supremacy in the midsize SUV segment.
which car is superior? Kia or Hyundai?
The conclusion is that, despite the similarity of the vehicles offered by Hyundai and Kia, Kia models offer greater value and better quality, as well as bolder style and a more engaging driving experience. Simply put, no matter what you value most in a car, Kia automobiles are better overall. Of course, it is ultimately up to you to decide. We recognize that purchasing a new car is a significant investment. We advise you to test drive both brands since we are certain that you will ultimately decide on a Kia. Any way you look at it, it’s unquestionably the better option. Please forgive me, Hyundai.
