Due to the Eon’s noncompliance with new safety regulations that will go into effect in October 2019 and the Bharat Stage VI emissions regulations that will go into effect in April 2020, Hyundai Motor India Pvt. Ltd. announced in August 2018 that the car would be discontinued by the end of September 2019. Before the 2018 holiday season, its replacement, the third-generation Santro, has been made available.
On May 3, 2019, at the Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. Manufacturing Plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna, the final Hyundai Eon rolled off the assembly line. In the Philippine market, the Eon is replaced by the China-made Reina sedan. [Reference needed]

Hyundai will stop production of the Eon and switch to a new small car by Diwali.
One of the persons added, “It is confirmed that the Eon will be withdrawn and several suppliers have also been advised that the product will be accessible for just a year.
“A successful firm like Hyundai made a very wise choice in making this choice since Eon will not be able to withstand the new crash standards. Consequently, they are replacing it with a superior product that complies with all the new standards “he or she added.
All new passenger vehicles will be required to go through a mandated crash test at a specific speed before they are put on the market under the new safety rules, which take effect in October 2019. India wants to eliminate the reputation as the country with the most road fatalities worldwide by making its vehicles safe.
Additionally, as part of its efforts to reduce the severe pollution in its major cities, India will begin enforcing Bharat Stage VI emission regulations in April 2020.
The Eon will be replaced by a new little car, so Hyundai won’t abandon the market for affordable small cars. Before Diwali, when the demand for consumer goods customarily reaches its peak for the holiday season, the new tiny car with the codename AH2 will be made available for purchase. However, one of the sources claimed that Hyundai would not abandon the Eon’s platform and would even keep it in order to use it for future car development.
Discontinuing To provide Hyundai room to manufacture new vehicles at its production complex close to Chennai, Eon will extend an invitation. This year and the following, the automaker will release new models in the compact class.
Y. K. Koo, managing director of Hyundai Motor India, declined to comment on the future of the Eon once the new hatchback was introduced in an interview last week in Chennai. According to Koo, the corporation may release a small SUV and a micro SUV to increase market share in this expanding industry.
Hyundai aims to explore for more capacity after 2020 and is already using 99% of its Chennai capacity.
The decision to stop selling the Eon “makes sense for Hyundai as they will debut another new small car in a few of months and there is no point having two cars cannibalize each other in the same class,” according to Anil Sharma, associate director at MarketsandMarkets research firm.
“Additionally, customers are switching from minis to hatchbacks. Additionally, Hyundai requires the additional space for its new hatchback and Creta “added Sharma.
With the new model, Hyundai hopes to revive interest and sales in the market for entry-level small cars.
The Eon, which debuted in 2011, hasn’t been a trailblazer for Hyundai like some other models have. Even though Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.’s compact car Alto maintained to sell more than 20,000 units every month throughout the previous four years, sales remained low.
Hyundai Eon sales grew marginally by 1.7% to 60,495 units in the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2018, rebounding from a 13% decrease to 59,489 units the year before due to the unfavorable effects of demonetisation. Sales decreased 9.4% to 78,334 units in fiscal year 2014–15 while they decreased 13% to 68,199 units in fiscal year 2015–16.
In actuality, the Eon is the only Hyundai product aimed at the mass market that had weak sales. The vehicle underperformed other models including the Grand i10 hatchback, Elite i20 premium hatchback, Creta SUV, and Verna sedan in terms of performance.

The Hyundai Eon hatchback has been officially discontinued in India. The entry-level hatchback was dropped from the lineup in December of last year, and it is now permanently removed from the automaker’s official Indian website.
In India, the tiny Korean hatchback first appeared in October 2011 and was on sale for more than eight years. Simply by setting a number of milestones in this entry-level market, it entered the contest against the undisputed segment leader and highest selling car in India, the Alto, and yet managed to build a name for itself.
The Eon was first equipped with a meager 800cc engine that generated 55 horsepower and 75 Nm of torque. A three-cylinder 1.0-litre Kappa mill was added as a new model in 2014. The new engine had a five-speed manual transmission and produced 65 horsepower and 95 Nm. In India, the Eon was never given a facelift, but Hyundai regularly released model-year updates that included more safety features.
The question now is whether Hyundai is preparing a replacement for the Eon in the same way as the new Santro is for the i10, which is no longer produced. In addition to the revised Grand i10, Xcent, Elite i20, and Creta that will be arriving in India later this year, we already have the new QXI. The Alto, the Eon’s main competition, is also getting ready to transition into a newer generation. It will include styling similar to the Kwid, so it won’t be shocking if Hyundai chooses to offer the Eon’s replacement crossover styling as well. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.
As long as there is still stock available, anyone interested in purchasing an Eon can still do so through the dealerships.

Is the Eon vehicle still in stock?
The 0.8L iRDE engine and the 1.0L Kappa engine are the two petrol engine options now offered for the Hyundai Eon.
The 814 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine that powers the Hyundai Eon 0.8L iRDE produces 76 Nm of maximum torque at 4000 rpm and 55 bhp of maximum power at 5500 rpm. It is the same engine that drives the i10, just scaled down with one cylinder removed and coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. Even though the engine has been finely polished, when you turn the key, you can still feel the engine.
Don’t expect pure performance from the engine because it is built to provide the best possible fuel efficiency. The 3-cylinder engine is ideal for commuting in urban areas. The low end power delivery and throttle response are both acceptable. The engine responds well to brief acceleration surges and may easily travel at a motorway speed of 120 km/h. But whether you’re driving on busy city streets or motorways, the gearbox needs a good workout from you to get the results you want.
When combined with the light steering and one of the lightest clutches you’ve ever used, driving in cities becomes effortless. We find the steering to be a little too light, which is problematic when driving at triple-digit speeds on the highway. At high speeds in corners, the steering’s lack of sensation may be frightful.
To better compete with the Alto, which has 0.8- and 1.0-litre engine options, Hyundai also introduced the 1.0-litre Kappa engine to the Eon lineup. The 998 cc, 3-cylinder petrol engine in the Eon 1.0-litre Kappa produces 68 bhp at 6200 rpm and a maximum torque of 94 Nm at 3500 rpm.
The Eon 1.0L, which comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, is for people who feel that the 0.8L Eon is a little too slow. The 1.0-L does give a somewhat more zippy engine, though not significantly so, and Hyundai has also addressed the jerkiness that you get with the smaller engine. The Eon 1.0L operates mechanically in the same way as the 0.8L with a slight increase in briskness. Magna+ (O) is the sole variant of the Eon 1.0L that is offered.
What kind of car is the Hyundai Eon?
The vehicle is essentially an i10 redesign. Hyundai has removed 50mm off the roof, sides, and edges of the vehicle. This makes sure the car has just the amount of space you need and nothing more.
The Hyundai Eon is a small, five-door car with a very modern appearance. The car is substantially lighter and smaller in every way. It’s because the car’s less weight is its key selling feature.
Metal sheets cover the car’s exterior. The interiors also draw inspiration from Hyundai’s high-end styling. It draws the eye because of its dual tones. The car’s opulent interiors serve solely to make it appear more expensive than it truly is.
Is the Hyundai Eon available in automatic?
The Hyundai Eon does not come with an automatic transmission; instead, all models of this hatchback come with a five-speed manual.
Hyundai Eon security
According to Global NCAP, the Hyundai Eon is available in a base model without airbags. It received two stars for protecting children and received zero ratings for protecting adults. The inadequate protection for adult occupants was caused by the fragile structure of the passenger compartment and the absence of airbags.
Has the Hyundai i10 been retired?
The Grand i10 has been covertly deleted from Hyundai India’s official website, making it clear that the car has been phased out in the Indian market. The Grand i10 Nios’s popularity is to blame for the model’s discontinuation. An engine that complies with BS6 was added to the Grand i10 last year as an update.
Magna, Sportz, and Magna CNG were the three trim levels available for the Hyundai Grand i10. A 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine with 81 horsepower and 114 Nm of torque was the only available powerplant. There was only a five-speed manual transmission available for the vehicle.
In the Indian market, the Hyundai Grand i10 was positioned above the Santro and below the Grand i10 Nios. Details of the model’s big discounts from the previous month are accessible here.
