How Is Hyundai Doing?

TikTok users have shared videos demonstrating how to steal specific Kia and Hyundai vehicles using just a screwdriver and a USB cord under the hashtag “Kia Boyz.”

Since the trend’s inception in 2021, the hashtag has received over 30.9 million views on TikTok. The first “Kia Boyz” video was removed.

Over the past year, thefts of Kia and Hyundai vehicles have increased due to the “Kia Boyz” trend.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart of Illinois noted that many of the films show young kids robbing the cars. “They’re doing this stuff in 20, 30, seconds and they’re cackling practically about how quick this is, how easy it is,” Dart said. “They’re sort of giggling their way through a how-to,” the speaker said.

According to Dart, the number of Kia and Hyundai thefts in Chicago has surged by almost 800% since last year.

We began investigating the situation to determine what might have caused it, and it quickly became clear that there was a direct connection to the social media realm, according to Dart. “And we then dug into that further and we found that, through social media, there was active campaigns to propagate ways to steal these cars.”

How Does Hyundai Continue? – Sales Continue to Rise

Sales data for July 2020 was made public, and despite the status of the world, sales are still increasing. We delve deeply into the data and factors behind Hyundai’s success.

Hyundai saw a 1% increase in sales and a 4% increase in retail sales in July 2020. The insane part is that retail sales of SUVs increased by 16%, which begs the question: Who is buying all of these SUVs? Another all-time monthly sales record was established by Hyundai’s Palisade, one of its priciest vehicles. It’s astounding that The Palisade recently set a record in June. Additionally, the Kona hits a July sales record, and overall, Hyundai increased its retail market share more than any other automaker in 2020.

The total number of units sold as of July 2020 is 57,677. This is a 1% gain over July 2019, which was a positive month for the economy. The SUV craze is still going strong, with SUVs making up 67% of all retail sales — a 16% increase. The retail sales rise that Hyundai has been experiencing for three months running will increase by 4% in July 2020.

Fleet sales are the only thing hurting Hyundai. Despite sounding bad, fleet sales, which account for only 7% of Hyundai’s overall volume, are down 32%. Overall, Hyundai outperformed the rest of the sector, growing by about 1% in the first half of 2020 compared to the same period in 2019. It is amazing to see growth given everything going on in the globe, especially considering how hard many businesses are working.

53,555 retail units were sold in total in July. As was previously indicated, 67% of this figure relates to SUV sales, which have increased by 16% for Hyundai. Unbelievably, sales of Hyundai’s premium SUV, the Palisade, increased by 87%, setting a new monthly sales record. Santa Fe sales increased by 9%, Kona sales increased by 12%, Sonata sales increased by 7%, and Accent sales increased by 7%.

How then is this possible? Sales for Hyundai are up from 2019 to the point where some models are even breaking sales records. There are several monsters who travel 40–50k kilometers annually. It may seem absurd, but people must drive, and when they put that much mileage on their automobiles, the expense of maintenance could be higher than the cost of simply purchasing a new vehicle. Despite the difficult times, it seems like now is the perfect time to purchase a car if you need one. While undercutting rivals, Hyundai is still providing 0% interest rates, delayed payments, and overall a terrific product. Analysts expect Hyundai’s sales to increase this year; congratulations, Hyundai.

Hyundai is it as dependable as Toyota?

Hyundai and Toyota provide some of the most dependable cars on the market right now if you’re seeking for them. Which one, though, triumphs? While they both perform well and significantly outperform other modern brands, Toyota narrowly edges out Hyundai in terms of reliability. In the majority of user polls and extensive evaluations, Toyota has marginally less issues per vehicle than Hyundai. Hyundai, as opposed to Toyota, provides customers with slightly better and longer warranties. In general, some of the world’s most trustworthy automobiles are produced by Hyundai and Toyota. With either brand, you can’t go wrong.

Why is Hyundai a household name?

Only Hyundai has established a reputation for producing trustworthy and effective engines, aside from Maruti Suzuki. Hyundai has created a wide range of highly dependable engines, including 1.2-liter gasoline and 1.5-liter diesel models that power nearly all of their vehicles. Hyundai has switched to turbocharged gasoline engines, giving vehicle aficionados another thrilling engine choice. To provide the best gas mileage, these engines are mated to incredibly smooth manual and automatic transmissions.

In terms of mileage, CNG vehicles are renowned for offering the best value. However, most vehicles need to be modified in order to use CNG fuel. Hyundai, on the other hand, provides factory-equipped CNG vehicles, demonstrating its dedication to making alternative fuel usage as widely available as possible. Hyundai has a wide range of alternatives in its lineup, including CNG, diesel, and gasoline.

What model sells the most units for Hyundai?

One of the few automakers in the US whose best-selling vehicle is still a sedan is Hyundai.

Despite a 4.9% reduction in sales since 2016, or 10,000 sales, the Elantra still outsells Hyundai’s next best-selling model by more than 60,000 units, which undoubtedly had an impact on Hyundai’s overall sales total for the year.

The current-generation Elantra was introduced in February 2016 for the 2017 model year, thus age is not an issue here.

Sales decreased from 2015 to 2016, as is common when a new model is introduced, but it’s possible that the Elantra is just one of the casualties of consumers’ desire shifting more and more in favor of high-riding SUVs and crossovers.

Which is a more expensive Hyundai or Kia?

Kia automobiles are typically less priced than their Hyundai counterparts. The comparable Hyundai Elantra starts at $19,850, while the Kia Forte starts at $17,890. Kia doesn’t cut corners on features or quality since the Forte is less priced. Like Hyundai, Kia provides one of the best warranties in the industry, which is ten years and 100,000 miles. Both companies offer quality that is unmatched in the industry and stand behind their products. In the J.D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study*, Kia placed third for 2021, ahead of brands like Toyota, Chevrolet, and even Mercedes-Benz. Even Hyundai’s luxury division, Genesis, ended behind Kia. Only Porsche and Lexus were ranked higher among mass market brands in terms of quality than Kia. At the top of that list, Kia is, in our opinion, in good company. It’s also important to note that J.D. Power named the Kia Optima, Sorento, and Sportage as the top models in each of their respective classes.

Is maintaining a Hyundai expensive?

Yes, Hyundai components are less expensive than the majority of other imported brand parts available. It also means that you may take your Hyundai to any trained mechanic for service, which is one of the reasons Hyundai repair costs are generally reasonable.

Is Hyundai superior to Honda?

Except for a few models, Honda cars dominate most auto categories. In comparison, the quality of every hybrid car from Hyundai is exceptional.

Honda is regarded as the best brand for both compact and medium-sized cars. In the compact SUV class, the used Honda CR-V performs better than the used Hyundai Tucson. However, drivers prefer the used Hyundai Kona to the used Honda HR-V, making Hyundai subcompact SUVs the victors in its category.

Overall, Hyundai vehicles are more fuel-efficient, and owing to Hyundai’s extensive warranties, you’ll spend less on repairs and maintenance.
