Does Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Have Wireless Apple Carplay?

The most noticeable exterior difference is the new front grille’s style, which is extremely aggressive and little startling to someone like me who has seen a Palisade frequently but is also less angular than other contemporary Hyundai designs. I believe the Palisade received the best of the two facelifts after observing the updated grille of the 2023 Kia Telluride.

Hyundai has merely improved what was a winning recipe inside. Although the new 12-inch touchscreen is beautiful, it still only supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (smaller displays in Hyundai models offer wireless connectivity). Although there is still a USB-A port in the center console, the most of the Palisade’s USB ports are now USB-C ports for speedier charging. Other updated features include a new “ergo” driver’s seat design, a redesigned steering wheel, and thinner air vents, but overall, the layout is fairly recognizable and comfortable—as long as you don’t spread your legs out when driving, where they’ll brush up against the large center console.

The Palisade also features Hyundai’s first-ever rearview camera mirror, which converts the rearview mirror into a video display for displaying what is behind the vehicle. Unfortunately, it wasn’t working in the demonstration car when we had the chance to test it out. When the conventional mirror cannot be used, I like these systems, but I don’t always use them because the view makes me feel queasy.

The inclusion of heated third-row seats has enhanced third-row passenger comfort, but the overall feeling of space has not changed. Adults can fit in the third row, but they won’t be overjoyed about the idea.

The new “rugged-looking” XRT trim, which is currently on the Tucson and Santa Fe SUVs, and the new Tow mode added to models with all-wheel drive are other upgrades we were unable to sample. The latter modifies the eight-speed automatic transmission’s reflexes and lowers the number of shifts, which should improve the performance of the Palisade tow. Customers can select front- or all-wheel drive, and the 291-horsepower, 3.8-liter V-6 continues to power the vehicle.

What we’ve seen so far is a better and more contemporary SUV that nonetheless stands out in a crowded class. We’ll have to wait to drive the revised Palisade to see how all these changes come together.

The Hyundai Palisade’s wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.

Wireless Even in the world of luxury vehicles, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are relatively new pieces of technology. Although aftermarket wireless adapters have existed for what seems like a very long time, manufacturers have only just begun to support them.

Hyundai, however, included wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity for the 2021 model year of automobiles. However, there is a very large asterisk next to the question of who has access to the functionality. You have the feature if you own a base SE model or a SEL sans the enhanced 10.25-inch display. This feature is not available to SEL fully equipped, Limited, or Calligraphy owners.

I’ll be picking up my black/moonlight cloud 2022 calligraphy tomorrow. What other essentials do you recommend in addition to the wireless Car play adaptor that I have already ordered? Some form of cargo cover, cargo mat, all-weather mats, and console between captains chairs are things I’m thinking about. Do you have a good idea to stop beach chairs and baggage from scraping the bumper? Anyone with a favorite dog door protection (like the one in the picture)? I’m eager to enjoy my new car but also take good care of it!
