I was curious, so I quickly glanced through the 2021 Sonata Hybrid owner’s manual and saw this information on page 7-26:

In the owner’s manual of older hybrid Sonatas, it also says:

Since the manual lists these scenarios as acceptable, I assume there is no regenerative braking or other associated hybrid equipment attached to the rear axle (?). Illustration C would apply for towing recreationally, but I don’t know enough about this car to know if the batteries would add too much weight for it to be towed that way for long distances. So I’m also interested to know whether anyone is doing it:
