Where is the 2023 Honda Classic?
At the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, the PGA Tour’s Honda Classic is the opening competition of the Florida swing. The tournament hasn’t always drawn the biggest names, but in recent years, many of the greatest players of today have participated, making it one of the most thrilling events on the current calendar.
Since it first appeared on the tour in 1972, the competition has traveled to some of the state’s top golf courses and has some of the greatest players in history, including Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino, inscribed on its trophy. Since the competition moved to PGA National, green jacket champion Adam Scott and former world number one Rory Mcilroy have each won the trophy.
Players won’t be able to claim the trophy until the final putt is made on the 18th hole on Sunday afternoon, which is one of the best finishing holes in the nation.

What is the cost to participate in The Honda Classic?
Professional golfers must pay entry fees to participate in tournaments, with the exception of the highest levels. NGA Tour Pro Series

With a membership fee of $1,250 and tournament entrance fees for members and nonmembers of $800 and $1,100, respectively, the Bridgestone Winter Series is the most costly tour. The cost of Carolina Winter Series membership is $700. Each tournament costs members between $600 and $700 to enter, while nonmembers pay between $800 and $900. The entry cost for the Q School Prep Series is $800 for members of any branch of the NGA Pro Golf Series and $1,000 for nonmembers.
Other Pro Tours
Members of the Gateway Tour pay $1,150 per tournament and $1,000 for the entire season. Each event costs $1,350 for nonmembers. The entry cost for the eGolf Professional Tour, another mini-circuit in the United States, is $1,390 for nonmembers and $1,150 for tour members.
A lesser California series called the Golden State Tour charges $250 for 18-hole competitions, $450 for 36 holes, and $650 for 54-hole events as entry fees. Non-members must pay $280, $500, and $750 for each level, accordingly. If paid by the early deadline, membership is $400; if paid subsequently, it is $500.
Which state hosts The Honda Classic?
The Honda Classic, formerly known as Jackie Gleason’s Inverrary Classic, is a PGA TOUR golf competition held each March at PGA National in Florida. American Motors (AMC) sponsored the competition in 1981, but Honda took over as title sponsor in 1982.
The Honda Classic finally settled down on the Champion course at PGA National Resort in 2007 after years of shifting venues. Ken Kennerly, who is in charge of the tournament organizing committee, was appointed as executive director for the 2007 competition. The 2022 Honda Classic was won by Sepp Straka (-10) He finished with a score of 66 and overcame a five-stroke deficit to Shane Lowry after 54 holes to win by one shot. It marks his first PGA Tour victory overall.
Berger needed an eagle to force a playoff on the last hole, but instead he hit his third wood into the water, made par, and was alone in fourth place at -7. Kurt Kitayama came in third place alone at a one-point advantage.
With only two bogeys in his opening three rounds, Berger appeared impenetrable. PGA National is renowned for being difficult to score on, and this past week was no exception. Chris Kirk, Straka, and first-round leader Kitayama are all within five shots of Berger, who had a rocky start on Sunday. His opening six holes resulted in four over par, and with that, the competition resumed.
Lowry and Straka were more than happy to exploit the situation. With a birdie to start his round, Lowry continued his good performance throughout the day, striking fairways and keeping his golf ball on solid ground. In order to catch up to the leaders, Straka shot a -3 on his final nine and had no bogeys.
None of the top ten players in the world were on the field. Players that were ranked at the top of the field didn’t always win. The 2020 champion Sungjae Im and last week’s winner Joaquin Niemann both missed the cut as Brooks Koepka placed T16 at even par, Louis Oosthuizen T29 at +2, and Brooks Koepka T16 at even par.
A few players who had weeks to remember were Matthias Schwab, who ended T7 and -3, Gary Woodland, who shot a final-round 67 to finish T5 (-4) with Alex Noren, Chris Kirk, who started the day within striking distance of the lead but struggled, and Adam Svensson.
The PGA Tour continues its season next week. The Tour continues its Florida swing by traveling to Bay Hill and Orlando for the Arnold Palmer Invitational. The current champion, Bryson DeChambeau, intends to make a full recovery from his injury in time to defend his championship. Viktor Hovland, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm are some of the other elite competitors in the tournament.
