Remove the conventional key from the fob. (To do this, pull the chrome end of the fob away from the remainder of the fob while sliding the release tab on the back of the fob over. The conventional key need to be easy to remove.)
Leave the fob in any location within the car. In the glove box or center console would be nice places to store it out of sight.
To lock the driver’s side door, place the standard key inside and turn it counterclockwise.
Take the conventional key with you by removing it. The doors won’t automatically open and will remain locked, as you’ll observe.
Simply re-insert the conventional key into the driver’s side door and turn it clockwise to unlock all the doors.
The classic key is much more robust than the fob and can be fully submerged in water without suffering any consequences, allowing you to carry it everywhere you go.
