Is The Honda Ct125 Coming To The Us?

Posted on March 9, 2020

Since Honda initially announced the CT125 Hunter Cub’s introduction in Asia, there has been no information regarding the new model’s arrival on our side of the Atlantic. Honda has now confirmed that the long-gone model will in fact be heading to North America, satisfying the fans’ desire.

The CT125 Hunter Cub, also known as the “Trail 125” here in the United States, revives a venerable design that gave many people their first taste of casual on- and off-road riding. The eagerly awaited C125 Super Cub offshoot returns Honda to its CT90/110 Trail-series heritage. Millions of buyers flocked to the Trail-series because of its versatility, simplicity, and tough design. It may be said that it was the first adventure bike.

The CT125 was a concept car that made its debut at the 46th Tokyo Motor Show in 2019 and garnered positive reviews and calls for a production version. With the release of the 2021 Honda Trail 125, which broadens the appeal of the well-liked Super Cub C125 to include casual riding in rural settings, including two-track roads and trails, that wish has now come true.

In order to do this, the C125 chassis was strengthened, suspension travel was increased, and fuel efficiency was increased. The same 125cc four-stroke, single-cylinder, overhead-camshaft engine with two valves is used, but it has an upswept exhaust and high-mounted air intake to produce more power in the low- to mid-range. The Trail 125 has a four-speed semi-automatic transmission, just like the Super Cub. The engine guard provides additional defense against hazards like as boulders and tree stumps.

The distinctive design that inspired people to buy hundreds of thousands of CT-series machines over the course of six decades was preserved by Honda’s designers. With the release of the Trail 125, Honda builds on the popularity of related vintage miniMOTO models to offer riders to the fun of road and trail trekking.

“The Honda 50 was first offered by American Honda in 1959, and after Idaho dealer Herb Uhl began customizing it for off-road use, Honda created the Trail 50, according to Lee Edmunds, senior manager of powersports marketing for American Honda. “In the 1960s and 1970s, the design proliferated in American campgrounds and on motorhome bumpers, inspiring a variety of imitators. Because of this, the CT brand has a unique history with the American market, so it’s wonderful to see it make a comeback with the Trail 125, which, like the Super Cub and Monkey, pays homage to a bygone era of American riding while incorporating cutting-edge reliability and technology.

In November, the 2021 Honda Trail 125 will go on sale and be offered in Glowing Red. the $3,899 MSRP.

Is the Honda CT125 sold in the United States?

As of today, October 19, 2021, motorcycle fans are in the midst of the best season of the year. No, we’re not referring to the holiday season (but congrats if you’re gifting or receiving any great bicycle-related gifts). The OEMs are presently removing every possible cover from their upcoming 2022 vehicles.

Sometimes the improvements are as simple as fresh paint or graphics. However, if we didn’t like the way bikes look, we probably wouldn’t love them as much as we do. Additionally, recall all the times you lusted after a hue that wasn’t offered in your nation and grudgingly muttered, “But the U.K. got it, those lucky idiots” or something to that effect.

Honda just unveiled the CT125 for the Japanese market in 2022. This charming little trail bike, also known as the Trail 125 in the US and affectionately known as the Hunter Cub, was only available in Honda red in that country for the 2021 model year.

However, over in Japan, it was also made available in a sort of light brown shade, presumably to help riders blend in better on those October rides while the foliage is changing. Even though we’re used to not having cool color options, it made us a little sorry to see it happen once more.

Honda Japan has revealed yet another new color for the CT125 in Japan for 2022. It will now be available in Pearl Organic Green, a cool shade of sage green that in some lighting nearly has a silvery appearance. It appears that Honda is aiming for something more basic and subdued for your camping vacations and meetups out in the woods with both it and the formerly available khaki color. When you’re spending time connecting with nature, who needs neon red?

At this time, it is unclear if this hue will be offered outside of Japan. Other parts of the world offer much more Honda scooters and bikes in a variety of interesting color schemes than North America does. Could this colorway be made available in Europe or Asia at some point? Though we can only wait and watch, we sincerely hope so!

Will the Honda CT125 arrive in Canada?

According to Honda Canada, the CT125 won’t be available until 2020, and as of now, there has been no information regarding the manufacture moving here or even to the US in 2021.

Where are Honda CT125 manufactured?

Today, Honda introduces the Honda CT125 Hunter Cub through dealers in Thailand. Preorders have already started for the Honda CT125, which is priced in Thailand for 84,900 Baht (RM 11,500 or $2,600), which is less than the CT125’s MSRP in Malaysia. Booking the bike costs merely 1,000 Baht, which is equivalent to Rm 135 or 32.6 USD!

Sources claim that purchasers from Bangkok can purchase the bike as early as today. The bike should arrive this week, just like it did for other provinces.

Honda Japan first revealed the delay in the CT125’s delivery to Japan two weeks ago. This was a result of the Thai Honda plant’s output slowdown. Thailand is the first country to receive the new Honda CT125, though, as it is built there.

Fans of the Honda CT125 Hunter Cub are excited to see the CT125 enter a market outside of Japan, even though it is being introduced in Thailand today. Why? Only the C125 Super Cub is currently offered in markets outside of Japan, while other models like the Honda Cross Cub are only sold there. This makes the CT125 the second contemporary Cub to be sold outside of Japan.

We believe that the CT125 has a good possibility of entering other markets when taking into account public interest and the current environment. The specifics of when Honda would get the bike into additional countries remain unclear, though, because to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Is there a low range on the brand-new Honda Trail 125?

Although the fuel range is only about 150 miles, you may add a one-gallon gas can to increase it to 250 miles when necessary. You may transport your camping gear, as well as possibly your hunting and fishing gear, on the enormous rear utility rack.

cc FUEL-INJECTED ENGINE

Nobody can match the reputation that Honda has for its engines, and despite the Trail125 ABS’s relative compactness, it is a behemoth in terms of power and dependability. Air conditioning also keeps things very straightforward.

FOUR-SPEED SEMI-AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

Like a conventional motorcycle, the Trail125 ABS has a four-speed semi-automatic transmission that you may shift with your left foot. The interesting element is that there is no clutch to worry about. The heel-toe shifter on the Trail125 also makes operating simpler, especially when wearing boots.

READY FOR ON- AND OFF-ROAD ADVENTURES

The Trail125’s biggest feature is how many places you can ride it. It makes for a fun and useful commuter on the street. It is also a joy to ride in the dirt thanks to its small weight, skid plate, spark arrestor, and ground clearance. Additionally, since it has a license plate, you can ride it in places like state and national parks that are only accessible to certain off-road bikes.

STANDARD ABS

In less-than-ideal situations, such as on wet pavement or other problematic surfaces, our front-wheel Anti-Lock Braking System can be a huge aid in achieving controlled stops. It’s a terrific feature that will let you stop more confidently whether you’re riding your new Trail125 for fun or as a commuter.

In Canada, can I purchase a Honda Super Cub?

The Honda Super Cub, the most popular automobile in history, will be upgraded for 2019 and will only be available in the US; it will not be made available in Canada.

Big Red updated their wildly successful step-through (more than 100 million units sold since 1958!) last fall. Honda announced in November that it would begin selling the C125 Super Cub, which is powered by the same four-speed, air-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder engine as the Honda Grom. This statement attracted a lot of interest, especially as the Grom has gained a following in recent years thanks to its combination of silliness, good times, and dependability.

The modified Super Cub generated enough interest to warrant its return to the American market, where it is anticipated to carry a $3,600 MSRP. Given that ABS is a standard feature on US vehicles, that is still a good price.

If the machine were available in Canada, it would cost roughly $4,600 CAD, but it isn’t. Not at least for 2019. There was no discussion of the motorcycles arriving in Canada now or at a later time. That is the official statement from Big Red’s Canadian division. We’ll simply have to wait and see, but if you’re really set on getting one, we advise approaching your neighborhood dealer. If the OEMs believe they can generate enough sales to justify importation, they are absolutely capable of altering their minds.
