McIlroy’s day was up and down, and it didn’t go well when he bogeyed the second hole. With a birdie on the third hole and two more on the front nine, he recovered, but a bogey on the 14th hole caused him to lose momentum. He was able to finish the round, though, with a birdie at hole 18.
Scott’s lead is not secure because there is little distance between him and the field. This could make Wilmington’s third round on Saturday entertaining.
