Why won’t my BMW door unlock?

A fuse is essentially an overcurrent protective electrical safety device. The fuse functions as a “blocker” to stop and reduce the amount of electrical energy flowing through the car before it reaches the door-locking actuator since the actuator is unable to manage a high amount of electrical energy.

A blown fuse is most likely to blame for a fault if only one door lock is not working. The fuse box is often found in your glovebox, concealed under a cover. A qualified BMW technician will open the fuse box, identify the potential impacted fuse using the accompanying schematic, and then pull the fuse to check for damage. Your mechanic will take out and swap out any blown fuses with new ones if they are discovered. It should now be possible to use the power door locking system normally.

All BMWs have keyless entry, right?

With the Comfort Access option, you may start the car and open the doors using a proximity-based keyless system that is more advanced. This eliminates the need for the key fob remote.

Keyless entry is common, but I have a hunch that you’re probably referring to “comfort access,” which is an optional feature that lets you lock, unlock, and start your car without taking out the keys.

Yes, the F10 5er has sort of “half” comfort access, and it appears that the F30 will also. which is stupid since you have to take the key fob out to start the car, then once you’re inside, you either have to put it back in your pocket or purse or find a place on the dashboard or dash to store the keys.
