BMW originally unveiled the X7 in March 2014. On October 17, 2018, it was formally introduced, and online pre-orders were accepted. Dealers have begun selling the X7 since March 2019.

In 2022, BMW unveiled a facelifted model of their X7 flagship SUV with a revised exterior and modernized drivetrains.
The largest SUV produced by the German automaker from Munchen, which was intended as a high-end seven-seater, faced out against its longtime rival Mercedes-Benz GLS and, on American soil, the Cadillac Escalade. But it had a single-body design, just like the three-pointed star brand.
new BM X7 cost and availability
When and how much the new X7 will cost will not be disclosed by BMW. You’ll probably be able to reserve one in the summer of 2022, although it will definitely cost a little bit more than the current model because these changes aren’t free.
Entry-level 40i and 40d models should cost at least PS80,000, while top-of-the-line X7 M60i variants cost more than PS100,000.
New BMW X7 Unveilled: Updated Design, More Powerful Engine
In August 2022, the brand-new BMW X7 SUV is scheduled to go on sale. The redesigned flagship of the Bavarian manufacturer, exhibiting a variety of modifications, has been unveiled in advance and to heighten anticipation. BMW has made headlines as well after announcing its intention to launch 24 vehicles this year!
Beginning with the exterior, the 2018 BMW X7 features a revised bumper and split headlights. In comparison to the single-unit headlights found on the earlier X7, the units now have a more streamlined design.
The DRLs are only located underneath the headlight unit, giving the entire front end a fairly cluttered appearance. Along with the front, the rear has undergone a small change with a “3D design,” as described by BMW. The optional 23-inch alloy wheels on the future X7 SUV are another significant improvement and a first for the business.
The BMW X7 receives a significant interior design and equipment upgrade. For instance, the air vents and controls are more streamlined and contemporary. Along with a redesigned gear selector, there is a new ambient light bar on the passenger side of the dashboard. The 12.3-inch driver’s display unit and the 14.9-inch digital instrument console are both housed in a single, curved display, which is the largest difference here.
Of course, considerable thought has gone into the bells and whistles as this is a top-of-the-line SUV. This includes newly added features including an exit warning function, which informs the passenger if there is a risk of collision while opening the door, as well as improved gesture and touch controls. In connection with that, BMW asserts that an Apple iPhone can also be used to unlock the X7.
The BMW X7 will have three distinct powertrain options available. A 48V mild hybrid system is linked with all of them. The 3.0-liter inline-six diesel and petrol trims each produce 356hp (up 47hp), while the top-of-the-line M60i xDrive variant has a 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine that produces 537hp.
A paddle-shifted, 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is used for transmission tasks. Additionally, adaptive air suspension with electronically controlled dampers is a standard feature for the new X7 SUV.
Currently, BMW offers four different X7 SUV versions, with costs ranging from Rs 1.18 crore to Rs 1.78 crore (all prices, ex-showroom). Although it hasn’t been verified yet, we think BMW will export the upgraded model to our country.
What year did the BMW X7 debut in India?
Although it doesn’t seem like it, the BMW X7 made its debut nearly four years ago. The largest model in the Bavarian automaker’s lineup has recently had a thorough overhaul both inside and out, introducing the newest iDrive interface and a boldly designed fascia that you either love or loathe but can’t ignore.
The X7’s enormous grille made headlines when it made its debut in 2018. The newest design language from BMW advances and shifts focus from the grille to the updated headlamp style. The iconic BMWs’ dual-barrel “angel eyes” LED headlamps have been replaced with a split configuration that features a modern unit on top and a straightforward, squared-off headlamp below. The lower portion of the headlamp is blacked out for some “gangsta” appeal in the sportier M models.
Even the grille has lighting features similar to those found on the X6 and the future i7, but those features are optional. The bumper style differs depending on the version. The new LED lighting signature for the tail lamps is the only significant update to the rear. As part of the update, additional BMW Individual color options have been added.
Significant interior improvements result from a completely redesigned cabin. We are possibly witnessing significant changes to the layout of the BMW dashboard for the first time in a very long time. The 12.3-inch instrument cluster and the 14.9-inch infotainment screen are both housed on the same curved display that is stacked on the dash. The OS8 for the iDrive system also makes its debut. Given that this is a large flagship, there are several driver aids included as standard equipment.
With the addition of a new 48-volt mild-hybrid to the pack, engine options essentially stay the same. The top-of-the-line M60i has a twin-turbo V8 that produces 523 horsepower and has a 0-100kmph time of 4.5 seconds. With a peak power of 630 horsepower, the Alpina version completes the task in 4.0 seconds. Along with the range, an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Beginning in August 2022, the new and improved BMW X7 will go on sale. It’s anticipated that India would make its debut sometime in 2019.

What class is the BMW X7?
Fundamentally, the Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class and the BMW X7 have very similar goals. Theoretically, the 7 Series and S-Class are both the SUV-shaped alternatives to the respective automakers’ flagship sedans. Each of these German SUVs appears to pamper its occupants, who can number up to seven, with seas of technology, leather, and exquisite lighting. And everyone of them strives to do it as skillfully and sportingly as they can. But how do they compare on paper? Is the young X7 a better option than the slightly more seasoned GLS that has a few years under its belt?
When did the BMW X7’s exterior change?
For the 2023 model year, the BMW X7 had a significant overhaul. The interior of the huge SUV was updated, although the front fascia and rear received just minor changes. Domagoj Dukec, the company’s design manager, appears in a new BMWBlog video to talk about the different aesthetic adjustments.
The transition to split headlights for 2023 is the most important modification to the front. Dukec claims that the split headlamp design gives BMW more creative freedom when redesigning the X7’s new front appearance. Daytime running lights are distinct from headlights since daytime running lights are not required to function and can be designed whatever they choose.
