BMW expands its standard assortment of high-end sedans, coupes, convertibles, and crossovers for the 2022 model year. By releasing the battery-electric i4 and iX models at the same time, the automaker is laying the groundwork for a new era of BMW. They hail BMW’s reaffirmed commitment to developing zero-emission vehicles as important components of its entire product roadmap.
EVs are relevant, but BMW is still focusing on its capabilities in the traditional part of the business. It debuts a brand-new 2 Series coupe for 2022, which the firm believes is a credible replacement for the legendary BMW 2002, the vehicle that really helped to establish the brand in America.
For the 2022 model year, the BMW X3 and X4 crossover vehicles receive some cosmetic updates and interior revisions. The other model lines’ changes are hardly noticeable.

Find the best BMW bargains with the BMW 4 Series changes!
For the 2023 model year, there are no standard equipment updates for the BMW 4 Series Coupe, Gran Coupe, or Convertible. The Driving Experience Professional option package is presently unavailable due to supply-chain difficulties. BMW removes Gesture Control from the Premium package, and the M440i is the sole vehicle with a head-up display. The fact that BMW has brought back the parking-assistance package is excellent news. Additionally, all 3 Series vehicles now have a SensaTec dashboard as an option.
How BMW Naming Schemes Work
Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW all employ an alphanumeric naming scheme. BMW vehicles are available in numbered series from 1 to 8. A bigger automobile equates to larger odd-numbered series. Even-numbered series typically feature variations on the preceding series’ body design. (Note that the names of the series don’t use hyphens like Mercedes-Benz classes: 3 Series versus E-Class.) SUVs are X models. Roadsters are Z models. The prefixes sDrive (two-wheel drive) and xDrive (all-wheel drive) can also be added to models; however, not all RWD BMWs are identified with a sDrive badge. Cars beginning with a lowercase I are electric or hybrid models.
The size of the engine is indicated by the second set of numerals in a model name. Previously, they monitored engine displacement. A larger number today just denotes a larger engine. The last letter (for instance, 230i) designates the vehicle’s engine type. For gasoline fuel injection, most automobiles terminate with i. There are also “e” electrified hybrids and “d” diesel vehicles in some markets.
There are “M Cars” that are created by BMW’s M performance division, such as the M5. These stand apart from vehicles such as the M550i xDrive, which frequently have more power and sportier tuning and styling than the basic variants. Alpina is another tuner that creates high-performance BMWs that are made and offered by BMW. They start with the letter B. (i.e. XB7).
If you put it all together, “X6 xDrive50i” succinctly describes the car in BMW lingo, yet telling someone you just bought it can be a mouthful.
When did the BMW 3 Series’ exterior design evolve?
In 2019, the BMW 3 Series had a comprehensive overhaul. The 3 Series’ platform and the addition of a wider range of engine choices represented the most significant changes. The new BMW 3 Series features a 1.6-inch larger wheelbase and is 3 inches longer overall. Unsurprisingly, the newest version has a more aggressive appearance than the earlier one.
Redesign of the BMW 8 series
I’ve stated before that I like the current BMW 8 Series. Regardless of body shape, it’s a really cool but imperfect GT car. However, unless BMW makes some significant changes—which is unlikely—the 8 Series won’t be saved from oblivion by an LCI facelift. Even though the 8er is a great vehicle, it has numerous fatal weaknesses, such being overpriced, not luxurious enough for the money, and not as good as its competitors, particularly now that the new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is available. The 8 Series should be able to compete again with some updated aesthetics (it needs an interior improvement more than anything else) and perhaps some handling adjustments.

BMW redesigned the 3 Series when?
BMW’s health depends on the 3 Series car. The 3 Series is still well-liked by both those who are new to the family and those who have been driving BMWs for a long time, even though the company’s customers have gradually shifted into SUVs like the BMW X3 and despite the automaker dividing the previous 3 Series lineup by rebadging the coupes and convertibles as the 4 Series.
BMW last updated the 3 Series for the 2019 model year, and it can’t just watch while competitors like the updated 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class try to steal buyers. It comes as no surprise that the 2023 BMW 3 Series receives its expected mid-life facelift, which includes a new BMW Curved Display in addition to minor stylistic changes.
BMW will continue to offer the 330i, 330e, and M340i models of the 3 Series in 2023. The powertrains are unchanged from 2022, as you may have already surmised. Separately, the M3 performance model is still offered, and if it undergoes any changes for 2023, we’ll let you know when BMW makes the official announcement.

BMW has started manufacturing the G20 generation in Mexico for a number of international markets, including the US, in place of the Rosslyn factory in South Africa where the F30 generation vehicles were put together.
