Since the BMW 740 has far less torque than the BMW 750, it won’t normally feel as powerful or speedy. The BMW 740 has more seats than the BMW 750, making it a better option for people who frequently drive other people about.

A comparison of the BMW 740i and 750i reveals that this year’s new features include iDrive, BMW’s most recent electronics interface. Reviews also claim that the most recent BMW 7 Series cars include an upgraded audio system, LED headlights, and minor external style changes.

Actually, it varies on the year. The v8 740iL and v12 750iL were both versions of the 740 from 1995 to 2001. BMW had the v8 745Li and the v12 760Li from 2002 to 2005, then the 750Li and 760Li from 2006 to the present. In essence, determining if a car is an IL or LI body style—IL being the older one—will inform you which type of body it is. I hope this isn’t too cumbersome.
hello Kathy Large question There have been 4 iterations of the BMW 7 series since 1977. The following BMW models were available from 1977 to 1986: 725i, 728, 728i/iS, 730, 730i, 732, 733, 735, 745i Turbo, and L7. In America, only the 733i, 735i, and L7 were offered. After 1987, they offered the 3.0, 3.5, and 5.0L versions of the 730, 735, and 750 as well as a “stretched variant with a L designation” for each. That generation of 7-series vehicles was in production until 2001, when the current model was introduced. The 740 has a 3.9L engine, which is still how the model numbers indicate engine capacity. By the way, that engine is a diesel one (it should be stated that it is a 740d), and as far as I know, it is only available in Europe. The 4.8L engine in the 750 is available in America. Hope that was useful.
I believe some of the information posted is incorrect. Every engine has some clearance volume, and the 750i has a full 5 liter engine that displaces 4,988 cc. The bmw 740i has a 4 liter engine. However, if you’re talking about the displacement volume, it is slightly less.
However, as it has been changing continuously since 1977, you must be explicit about the year for which you want to calculate the engine capacity.
Do the 2000 reg 750i L AUTO and 2000 reg 735i or perhaps 2000 reg 728i have the same parts?
Suspension, the bonnet and both sides, the kidney grill, the bumper, the radiotor, the filter, and any other parts that I may have overlooked are among them.
I definitely need to speak with someone who is an expert mechanic and is knowledgeable about BMW models E38.
Comparing the BMW 740i and 750i X-Drive
The BMW 7-Series’ top-selling trims, the 740i and 750i X-Drive, make it difficult for most purchasers to choose between these two big beamer sedans with a touch of luxury interior and dynamic performance. Remember that VIP Auto lease deal in NYC offers leasing for these thrill trips.
The 740i and 750i X-Drive are equipped with a separate powerplant. However, each of the powertrains gets to deliver enough power for these high-end luxury sedans to accelerate quickly. Their eight-speed automatic transmission, which shifts smoothly, is connected to both of their engines.
The base model, the 2020 BMW 740i, received an engine update from the model before it. Its 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine now generates 335 horsepower.
A more potent engine is added to the new 750i X-Drive. The BMW 750i X-Drive’s 4.4-liter V-8 turbocharged engine produces 523 horsepower.
These aren’t sports cars, of course. Despite having an exact weight of 4878 pounds, it accelerates at a breathtaking rate that rivals that of sports automobiles.
Despite the massive powertrains, they all still make a good impact in terms of fuel efficiency.
The most fuel-efficient vehicle in its class is the BMW 740i. It currently gets 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, according to its ratings. The 750i X-Drive achieves 17 city mpg and 25 highway mpg.
The new BMW 740i and 750i X-Drive interiors are loaded with cutting-edge standard technology and safety features to provide drivers and passengers with the most comfortable super-luxury sedan experience possible. The Bimmer’s user-friendly features make cruising enjoyable and worth repeating.
The interiors of the 740i and 750i X-Drive are virtually identical, sharing only odd sporting equipment like 20-way power Multi-contour front seats with articulating upper backrests, 4-way lumbar supports, driver/passenger seat memory, and adjustable side and thigh support.
The cabins include opulent Dakota Leather furnishings and high-gloss wood accents. A heated steering wheel and three-stage heated front seats are also included.
Hands-free liftgate, keyless entry with a multi-function remote control, automatic 4-zone climate control, rain-sensing windshield wipers with adjustable speed, and automatic headlight control are further cutting-edge standard equipment.
Both trims are designed to provide you and your car with the best possible protection on and off the road. The active safety elements of the BMW immediately activate in the event of any impending threats or accidents thanks to the Active Protection System.
Compare the 740i xDrive and 750i xDrive trims of the 2019 7-Series. What is the distinction?
As you move up, the 750i xDrive offers many of the same features as the 740i models while also bringing in a significant amount more. It comes with a more potent 4.4-L twin-turbo V8 engine that has 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque as a start. Additionally, a self-leveling air suspension with two axles is featured, and all-wheel drive is, of course, standard. The mechanical components of the car are otherwise unchanged from the lesser trim levels.
The 750i xDrive shares a lot of exterior styling cues with the 740i variants. The interior is changed to Nappa leather, and a few extra features are included to improve the use of your smartphone apps (such USB ports and a microphone). Additionally, a head-up display with full color, an extended check control vehicle monitoring system, soft-close automatic doors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers are included. Impact sensors and the Active Protection System, which foresees collisions and provides a Fatigue and Focus Alert for the driver, are additional safety measures.

I left my automobile at the dealership yesterday so they could work on it. They provided me with a 2018 740i with 345 miles on it as a loaner. I’ve never driven a 740 before, but I can already feel that the power and reaction are very different. The car is stunning, and I adore the modern interior and touch controls, but the engine is underpowered. Sport mode was about the same; I tried it. It will begin to move, but it will take much longer to do so. At greater speeds, it is still stable and silent, but it lacks the same vigor. This only makes me value my 750Li more.
It’s driving me crazy, therefore I need to figure out how to off the lane departure feature.
Also, please don’t misunderstand me. I saw another person there get caught with a 2 series, so I’m quite grateful to have such a lavish loaner.
What distinguishes the 740i and 750i?
The main differences between the 750i xDrive and the 740i xDrive’s basic features are the latter’s distinctive 19-inch wheels and standard Nappa leather inside. The 750i makes it possible to purchase further modifications like the $5,750 Rear Executive Lounge Seating Package.
Is the BMW 740i quick?
The 730d is the entry-level 7 Series model, and it meets the needs of the majority of purchasers with ease. Power is provided by a refined six-cylinder, 3.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine. With a top speed cap of 155 mph, the 0-62 time is accomplished in 6.1 seconds, matching that of hot hatchbacks.
This model has been by far the most popular over the past few years, which is why the 730d powerplant is offered in six particular versions. Along with the standard 730d, there is also a 730d xDrive with all-wheel drive and a 730Ld with an extended wheelbase. Every model is also offered in the aggressive-looking M Sport trim. Due to the additional weight of the long-wheelbase 730Ld, xDrive vehicles accelerate to 62 mph faster (5.8 seconds), lowering the benchmark sprint time to 6.2 seconds.
The BMW 740d xDrive uses a more potent version of the 3.0 liter turbodiesel for added diesel power. With its 316 horsepower and standard all-wheel drive, it can go from 0 to 62 mph in in 5.3 seconds. But few will require anything more than the 730d.
If you prefer gasoline, you may choose between the powerful 528 horsepower V8 750i or the spirited 3.0-liter inline-six 740i, with the former being available with either a long or short wheelbase. The 750i is deemed sportier and only comes with the shorter platform.
The 750i reduces the time from 0 to 62 mph to 4.7 seconds, while the 740i takes 5.5 or 5.6 seconds. The current M850i shares the same 4.4-liter turbo V8 engine, but the 7 Series’ sound-deadening makes it less raucous in this application and keeps noise at a discordant burble.
With a 0-62 mph time of 3.7 seconds, the (now discontinued) M760Li held the record for the quickest BMW until the M850i coupe tied it. Although it won’t be able to recapture its title, you might want to find a secondhand model because it’s incredibly quick for a vehicle of its size and few full-size luxury saloons have as much personality.
Our favorites among the new plug-in hybrid models are the 745e and 745Le. The new six-cylinder engine feels far more in keeping with the grandeur of the car than the old four-cylinder one did, and it gives the hybrid option an additional level of smoothness, refinement, and performance. The six-cylinder engine produces 282 horsepower, while the electric motor adds 111 horsepower. Peak combined power is 389bhp, and the enormous torque is 600Nm.
The 745e is an entirely different proposition that is around the same price as the V8-powered 750i but focuses more on the quietness of its powertrain and the ability to cruise silently on electric power alone. It immediately makes sense in a car like this, and it has plenty of power; the long-wheelbase xDrive-equipped version can accelerate from zero to sixty miles per hour in 5.1 seconds. It does a good job of concealing the weight of its battery and motor configuration when driving.
What is the price of a BMW 750 i?
The BMW 750i has a 523-horsepower V8 engine and 19-inch wheels, and it has a starting price of $103,000. A Rear Executive Lounge Seating upgrade for the 750i is additionally available, exchanging the middle seat in the back for a center console with a 7-inch tablet.
How reliable is the BMW 750?
With a reliability rating of 2.0 out of 5, the BMW 750Li is ranked 26th out of 30 luxury full-size cars. Its bad ownership costs result from the $1,027 average yearly repair cost.

The differences between the BMW 740i and 740Li can be better understood by comparing them. Since 1977, the BMW 7 series has been a line of high-end luxury vehicles. Since 2009, the most recent models of the 740i and 740Li have been available. The 740Li’s extended wheelbase is the main distinction between the two models of this German automaker. For this year, both of these import models are still accessible in the US.
