The winner of the 2021 BMW Championship and the FedEx Cup winner from the previous year, Patrick Cantlay, claimed the lead with a 6-under 65 that included a hole-out for eagle on the par-5 14th. Cantlay has a score of 12 under. Xander Schauffele fired a 5-under 66 and is tied for second with Scott Stallings after playing alongside Cantlay the first three days and again on Sunday. Scottie Scheffler, the current world number one, and Adam Scott are both at 10 under after 36 holes.
