What Is BMW Shadow Edition?

BMW’s new 1 and 3-Series package represents a turn toward the dark side. The new facelift is an even more edgy take on the compact and mid-size BMW mainstays, adorning both with the M-Sport badge and casting some shade with the Shadow Edition trim.

The new M-Sport Shadow Edition provides a darkened backdrop to the BMW 1 and 3 Series specifications, allowing its characteristics to look even more conspicuous. It is effortlessly elegant but packs a powerful performance punch. The new Shadow Edition is a ghost on the roadway thanks to its dark headlight housing, High-gloss Black Kidney Grille, 19″ M light alloy wheels, Dark Chrome exhaust tailpipes (18″ on the 1-Series), black side mirrors, and High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim.

Additionally, the 1-Series will gain from a completely new dashboard design and improved specifications, including Servotronic; light, responsive, and controlled steering, for an even more effortless handle on BMW power. Along with Servotronic, LED headlights and foglights will come standard on the 3-Series, and the instrument panel has been redesigned with ornamental stitching. The BMW M-Sport Shadow version is a celebration of dark vs. light, warm vs. cool, performance vs. presence; it just transcends every tone. It has additional ambient lighting that can be switched between BMW Classic Orange and Cold White LED.

Which vehicles are offered with the Shadow Edition?

From July 2017 through June 2019, the M Sport Shadow Edition trim was offered on the second-generation BMW 1 Series and the sixth-generation BMW 3 Series. These cars had distinctive, sporty features including a black Kidney Grille and exclusive M light alloy wheels. Additionally, their upgraded equipment level includes M sport braking system, harman/kardon audio system, and sun protection glass.

The popular 1 Series series received a facelift from BMW last year, and a few new packages known as “Editions” were also released. Included in this are the Edition Sport Line Shadow, Edition M Sport Shadow, and BMW M140i Edition Shadow, all of which are designed to emphasize the car’s distinctly athletic yet elegant image. Over a year after their initial introduction, BMW UK has now created a brief clip to highlight what makes them unique.

With a kidney grille frame coated in black, LED headlights with black inserts, and darkened rear lights that also use LED technology, the special editions set themselves apart from their brothers. The exhaust tailpipes on the BMW 1 Series Edition M Sport Shadow are also black. The new car’s more striking appearance is also aided by the addition of the exterior hues Seaside Blue and Sunset Orange. To suit its shadow-like appearance, the Edition M Sport Shadow includes 18-inch wheels in either Jet Black or Bicolour Jet Black (719 M).

The nicest thing about the Edition M Sport Shadow is that, as long as the M Sport package is in the options list, it can be added to any model in the lineup. Even a 118i with a 3-cylinder engine or a 116d designed to be ultra-efficient and consume as little diesel as possible can be converted into one of these beauties. Sure, you won’t get the rush that drivers of BMW-badged vehicles expect, but at least your car will look nice.

The interior of the car has been updated with the facelift, and features a new instrument cluster with red needles and white dials as well as a slightly modified dash. Since we’re discussing M Sport variations, it’s now possible to order them with brand-new pairings of Piano Finish Black, aluminum, or Fineline wood trim with chrome. Customers of the BMW 1 Series have a choice of seven fabric seat types, some of which come with leather or Alcantara, but the M Sport Shadow Edition is not given any extra treatment inside the car.

M Sport Option will be replaced with Edition M Sport Shadow in the 1 Series Range.

Today, BMW announced a number of model-specific improvements that will all take effect in November. One of them was the declaration that the Edition M Sport Shadow package will take the place of the M Sport package for the 1 Series lineup, which includes both the 3-door and 5-door variants. As a final farewell to the 1 Series, BMW has expanded the availability of the latter package after it was successfully debuted earlier this year in a few areas.

The new Edition M Sport Shadow, which goes on sale in November 2018, improves upon the unique interior and external design, equipment, and features of the previous model with a number of fresh, standout characteristics. These include a BMW kidney grille frame in High-gloss Black, exhaust tailpipes in Black Chrome, LED headlights with black inserts, LED front fog lamps, and dark rear lights. Jet Black 18-inch M light-alloy wheels with double spokes are also included with the Edition M Sport Shadow version of the BMW 1 Series. Anthracite BMW Individual headlining and unique sports seats with grey accents are available inside the vehicle.

The package’s price has not yet been released and will vary based on the market. However, it’s safe to presume that the Edition M Sport Shadow package won’t be overly pricey when compared to the M Sport variant because the 1 Series is close to ceasing production. Unfortunately, this is one of the model’s final victories before switching to front-wheel drive. The UKL platform will be the foundation for the new 1 Series.

You’ll have greater space inside the cabin because the FWD configuration enables engineers and designers to make better use of the available space. The situation is the same in the boot and the back. The back passengers will have additional space because a transmission tunnel is no longer necessary. The boot’s size will also no longer be constrained by the rear differential at the same time. The difference? Naturally, there will be no more drifting like we used to, either.

PERSUATIVELY SPORTS HARDWARE.

The aerodynamically enhanced bodywork components of the M sports package, which are also a part of the equipment package for the edition model, highlight the SAV’s dynamic nature. The 22-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design with a Jet Black matt surface and mixed tyres are another unique element of the BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition. The M sports exhaust system’s emotionally potent sound complements the engine’s outstanding performance.

BMW Black Shadow Edition: What is it?

The company’s BMW Individual high-gloss shadow line package and components from its M Performance catalog have been specified for the 220i Black Shadow Editions. It was the same thing that was provided with the diesel variants. Buyers of the 24 vehicles can have the Black Shadow Edition kit for just Rs 1.6 lakh more than the ordinary 220i M Sport version, which costs Rs 41.90 lakh, according to BMW (ex-showroom, Delhi). After the sale of these 24 cars, the kit will be offered as an option on the base 220i M Sport for the full price.

The new blacked-out BMW kidney grille, black wing mirror caps, darkened chrome finish for the exhaust pipe finishers, and a gloss-black boot lip spoiler are all included in the Black Shadow Edition kit. It also has brand-new 18-inch forged alloy wheels from BMW’s M Performance components that include floating hubcaps.

The 220i Black Shadow Edition comes in two exterior paint color options: Alpine White and Black Sapphire, same like the diesel variants. However, the interior is much the same as the base model, featuring the same dual-tone Sensatec Oyster and Black leather upholstery.

It comes with features like a 10.25-inch digital instrument display, 10.25-inch touchscreen with voice assistant and gesture control, rear view camera, reversing assistant, panoramic sunroof, sports seats with memory function, and more because the equipment list is identical to that of the standard 2 Series M Sport. Six airbags, ABS, dynamic stability control, traction control, cornering brake control, and other safety features are available.

A BMW M140i has how many BHP?

The 3.0 liter turbocharged engine in the BMW M140i generates 340 horsepower. Whether it has an automatic or manual gearbox, this six-cylinder engine will propel this small hot-hatch from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds. Just 0.2 seconds separate that from the Audi S3 with all-wheel drive.

You receive a six-speed manual transmission as standard, but you can upgrade to an eight-speed automatic if you’d rather not shift gears manually. The automatic is snappy, changes gear easily, and ultimately makes a lot more gratifying decision than the manual, which isn’t especially smooth. If you frequently get delayed in traffic, it’s undoubtedly simpler to deal with.

Models with manual transmissions are said to get 36.2 mpg on average, while automatic variants come out slightly ahead with 38.2 mpg. However, in regular driving circumstances, you can anticipate that both will achieve a number in the high twenties.
