What Is BMW Kith?

Ronnie Fieg, a well-known name in the clothing and footwear industries for more than 20 years, created Kith in 2011. When Ronnie was a little boy, he fell in love with his grandfather’s beloved first-generation E21 3 Series. Since Kith’s founding, Ronnie has led it to become a multifaceted lifestyle brand and forward-thinking retail space, working with several major international brands.

This partnership between BMW and Kith is wholly true in every manner and the result of shared affection. Building on the captivating 2022 BMW M4 Competition Coupe, which combines magnificent design with the famous power of M, BMW enthusiasts have the opportunity to buy an extraordinary special edition sports car with distinctive Kith components.

The History of the BMW x KITH Partnership

One of BMW’s largest and most significant collaborations ever was unveiled in 2020 with the KITH M4. In order to create a Kith-branded BMW M4, BMW M collaborated with Kith owner Ronnie Fieg on the project, which involved both clothing and automobiles. The high-end brand, situated in New York City, made a name for itself as one of the top streetwear/lifestyle companies worldwide. Fieg wanted to expand it to vehicles as well, so when BMW asked him to create a line of apparel branded with the BMW M x KITH moniker, he said yes.

Since we’ve known Ronnie Fieg for a while, we’ve come to understand his love of vintage BMW vehicles. Fieg is said to own six BMWs, although he also owns famous models like the E30 M3. Additionally, he appears to be working on restoring an E31 835CSi. Fieg recently discussed his love for the company and the origins of the collaboration in a podcast with Complex. Additionally, he revealed an intriguing fact: the 150 BMW M4 x KITH vehicles sold out in a record-breaking 11 minutes.

BMW Classic completed a comprehensive restoration on Fieg’s E30 M3 and gave it a slight Kith touch. Consequently, it includes Kith emblems engraved in the leather, on the door panels, and even BMW Roundels designed in the Kith style on the hood and trunk. On the back is a special “Kith” logo that draws inspiration from the BMW M. Even more intriguing is the fact that the M4 collaboration vehicle also underwent comparable modifications. We believe that this is also the first occasion in which the BMW design team has collaborated with a different party to alter the distinctive BMW roundel. The Kith logo, which was inspired by the BMW M, is also painted on the trunk lid, strengthening its connection to Fieg’s E30.

Fieg also received a unique G82 M4 as part of the automobile partnership, which was created to match his E30 M3. Its exterior was painted Cinnabar Red, and the word “Kith” was imprinted on the middle armrest and headrests. The standard “/M” emblems have been replaced on the headrests by lighted “Kith” logos. Three frozen colors—Frozen Black, Frozen Brilliant White, and Frozen Dark Silver—were offered for the “standard” Kith M4s. An optional carbon fiber roof with a sizable “Kith” logo and M-colored stripes was also available.

The $109,250-priced 150 vehicles went into production in July 2021. Unfortunately, despite the fact that Fieg appeared to have many more BMW-related experiences to share, the Complex team veered off-topic at some point. We’re hoping to have him on our show soon to talk more about his enthusiasm for the BMW brand and what the future may hold.

KITHS FOR BMW COLLECTION

The Kith for BMW Collection combines the characteristic Kith materials and silhouettes with the traditional BMW and BMW M colors and logos. Knitwear styles include color-blocked cardigans and sweaters, motorsport-inspired jackets and tracksuits, kimono blazers, suede bomber jackets, and a variety of hoodies and T-shirts. There are numerous iconic BMW symbols that Kith has modified, including a unique Kith BMW logo. The collection also includes a wide range of lifestyle items with a BMW theme. These feature a true-to-original model of the 1989 E30 M3, as well as particular valve caps and license plate frames, as well as umbrellas, cups, cushions, and more. The collection is completed by wearable accessories like as hats, scarves, and gloves.

Stylish Kith Special Edition for the BMW M4 Competition

A special edition M4 created in partnership with “lifestyle brand” Kith is limited to 150 units worldwide and will go on sale on October 23.

  • The limited edition M4 Competition x Kith was produced in partnership between BMW and the founder of the lifestyle brand Kith.
  • Only 150 of these M4s with Kith design elements total will be produced, with prices beginning at $110,245.
  • Orders will be accepted starting at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, October 23.

The M4 Comp x Kith is a limited edition 2022 M4 Competition that was produced by BMW and Kith, a lifestyle company founded by Ronnie Fieg. Only 150 of this M4 Competition, which was individually designed by Fieg, a devoted BMW enthusiast, will be produced.

Beyond aesthetics, the factory-built 503 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque from a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission characterize the limited-edition M4 Comp. It has driver assistance and infotainment technologies as optional safety elements in addition to having all-wheel drive as standard.

Beyond that, the car has a distinct Kith vibe, which is largely influenced by Fieg’s own E30-generation BMW M3 and an M4 design study. The BMW logo was modified for this partnership, which BMW claims is the first time it has done so, to integrate the Kith emblem with the distinctive BMW roundel badge. This is perhaps the most notable change.

The interior of the vehicle is decorated with black merino leather embossed with the Kith emblem, the M logo, and its stripes. The Kith logo also runs across the roof of the M4 Comp x Kith. The striking M colors contrast the interior’s black tone and give the car a sportier look. The possibility of a carbon-fiber roof with the Kith/BMW insignia stamped on it is an intriguing detail.

In a statement, Fieg said, “Some of my best childhood memories involve visiting my grandfather and riding around in his BMWs in the 1980s. “I recall that in addition to his treasured property, a white E30 M3, he also owned an E21 320i. Working on this project with BMW has completed the circle that these events in my life started to create for my love of BMW.”

The Frozen Black, Frozen Dark Silver, and Frozen Brilliant White matte colors will be the only ones offered for this limited edition M4 Competition. In addition to the M4 special edition, Kith is also selling its own line of accessories and clothing with the BMW logo. On October 23 at 11 a.m. ET, the BMW website will accept orders for the M4 Competition x Kith.

With almost $40,000 in options, this BMW M4 Competition KITH Edition is an unknown rarity.

The regular BMW M4 stands out thanks to its unusual look, but the KITH Edition of the vehicle is much more special. The special M4 was produced in conjunction with the fashion firm KITH, based in New York City, and was only produced in 150 units worldwide.

And if you were hoping to get your hands on one, today is your lucky day because one just went up for auction on Cars & Bids with only 40 kilometers on the clock. The M4 Competition xDrive, on which this car is based, has a starting price of $79,000, which is higher than the standard price of $72,000 for an M4. Additionally, the KITH package alone reportedly cost $30,700 as an option, and the vehicle also includes over $7,000 in extras, putting the whole cost to about $117,000, with over $38,000 of that amount being choices.

Fortunately, with only four days left in the auction, it appears like the seller will receive their money’s worth. At the time of writing, the current price had already surpassed $100,000. But the KITH package doesn’t just raise the price of this car. This unique partnership vehicle only has features like the BMW Frozen Dark Silver Metallic paint, Tricolor M bucket seats, BMW x KITH roundels, and numerous KITH emblems all over the car. A KITH 1/18-scale E30 M3 is also included in the sale by the seller.

The powertrain, though, isn’t unique to this model, which isn’t necessarily a drawback. With a top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h) or 180 mph (290 km/h) with the M Driver’s Package, the 3.0L twin-turbocharged inline-six engine delivers 503 hp (510 PS / 375 kW) and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque to all four wheels. This allows for quick acceleration from a stop to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.4 seconds.

Could this limited-edition M4 become a valuable collector in the future? Consider it a wise investment, do you? Please tell us in the comments.
