The G30 BMW 5 Series is more stunning than ever.
The G30 generation of the BMW 5 Series received some criticism when it first appeared for having wider kidney grilles, linked headlamps, and being a little too conservative and comparable to its predecessor. In comparison to several more contemporary Bimmers, it must be said that it received almost no criticism. It wasn’t, however, adored by all. I believe the G30 looks better than ever now that it has been on the market for a few years and is getting a mid-cycle LCI upgrade.
The G30 BMW 5 Series is looking extremely lovely right now, however it could just be the shock of seeing vehicles like the BMW Concept 4 and i4 Concept. Although it has always been attractive, its charms seem to be more potent than ever. After witnessing drastically altered vehicles like the aforementioned prototypes, its conventional BMW style appears like a hot cup of tea to soothe our nerves. Since BMW has become a little obsessed with grilles, I’m sure all of its detractors who complained that it was too boring when it first appeared are hating themselves.
I initially believed the new G20 BMW 3 Series was the most attractive BMW vehicle. It looked slick, sporty, and enjoyable. Perhaps I’m just getting older because I find the 5er’s calmer demeanor more appealing.
The current G30 5 Series has a rather straightforward design, but it’s a design that works. It has the right proportions, precise lines, and sporty styling to distinguish it from your grandfather’s luxury vehicle. When compared to contemporary BMW standards, its kidney grilles appear positively meager, whereas when it first arrived, they were gigantic. Furthermore, its headlights and taillights are both uncomplicated and tasteless.
It also appeals to me since it requires nothing to be attractive. It doesn’t require a specific model version, a M Sport package, or a specific color to look attractive. A 530i isn’t particularly ugly, but the M550i is undoubtedly more attractive. In fact, I believe the 530i to be more attractive than any other BMW Series sedan currently available for purchase (I purposely left out the 8 Series Gran Coupe because BMW insists it is a four-door “coupe” and not a sedan).
The G30 BMW 5 Series is possibly the most underappreciated BMW sedan, both in terms of style and drive, while possibly being the brand’s best-looking sedan at the present. Which is unfortunate because it’s a fun car to drive and I believe its appearance is deteriorating like a fine wine.

2016–2020 BMW 5 Series (G30)
Late in 2016, BMW unveiled the seventh version of the 5 Series; deliveries began in February 2017.
The 5 Series, which was developed on the same platform as the 7 Series (G11), the brand’s flagship model, received a number of technological improvements over the F10 lineup. Despite the fact that the silhouette was very identical, several notable alterations made it a desirable car in the luxury segment.
The G30 first appeared to be more of an evolution than a revolution. The vehicle came equipped with the most potent laser headlights available in the industry in addition to the regular LED headlights. The side vents behind the front wheel arches ruined the sleek appearance from the profile. Although they had no purpose, they gave the car a sporty touch. The company employed comparable lines to those of its predecessor for the four-door sedan version but bigger LED taillights.
The fifth iteration of this Bavarian marque, the 5 Series F10, offered comparable interior room due to a hardly noticeable increase in wheelbase over the model it replaced. However, the company produced a long-wheelbase version for the Chinese market. The infotainment system screen, which was mounted on top of the center stack, had a floating design in both cars’ dashboards.
The automaker had a broad selection of diesel and gasoline engines with outputs ranging from 190 PS to 462 PS with either rear- or all-wheel drive.
