What Does Parking Light Failure Mean BMW?

Why does this mistake occur? This typically occurs because the light bulb has reached the end of its useful life or has become faulty for some other reason. A straightforward known solution to this problem is to replace the bulb.

Hi there,

While I’m still waiting for my new 330, my old 320d has started to display a Parking Light Failure notice. After I sold the car, there was no way that could have happened! Karma. So, does anyone know how much that will cost and whether I need to have BMW handle it?

Today, I experienced the same thing. After checking all the lights, it appears that the offside front side light is broken. If not, it’s going to the main dealer, who can fix it under warranty, and I assume it’s simply a simple bulb change!

It might be worse. Recently, I had a puncture that required a new tire. Due to its low tread, the other tire also needed to be replaced. I spent 500 ps. And my F30 will be here in three weeks!

The only lights covered by the guarantee are Xenon or LED lights. If you can avoid it, it is not worth replacing filament bulbs.

to a QashQai. The additional weight of the car must be rated for them. The wheels are 19″ and have tyre pressure monitoring valves as well. Plus appropriate All of it adds up.

That’s about right, it’s the same as!

9″ rears, a rear corner puncture on RFT’s PS300. I’m so pleased I’m on 18″ MPSS’s right now—PS140, last I checked.

I can confirm that the side light bulb needed to be changed. Two H6 6 Watt GE bulbs from Halfords (the best they had) cost PS6.49, and they took 5 minutes to install according to the manual on iDrive or a phone app. Parking light failure notice is no longer present.

My side light warning messages are not working properly. I disregarded the first warning light, and after a few days I discovered I had a flat battery. My car was taken to the shop in a flatbed lorry, and I was given a very excellent 530d in its place. Assume they recharged the battery and changed the side light. The second side light warning message appears two weeks later. I take it to the dealer, who examines it briefly and remarks that it has come free. Today as I was returning home, the side light warning suddenly illuminated. Argh! It’s time to open the bonnet.

I just recently purchased a 2014 F20.

How are the parking lights (page 84) doing? Do they work (it’s unclear if the problem is the message or the system itself)? Do not let them let you down!

They therefore actually don’t work, and the warning or error that appears then is appropriate. How about the side lights (found on page 83 of the same manual I already cited)? Don’t they also function? DRLs, if you have LED versions.

Anyway, if the bulbs/lights, fuses, and everything else are in working order and there is still a failure, I suppose you should contact a service. Actually, I wanted to point out that “side lights” weren’t “parking lights” (that could be some confusion).

The Meaning of This Message

It makes no difference which BMW model you drive! This issue can affect any model.

The worst scenario is when you park in a really dark area but the parking lamp won’t turn on. Therefore, it is crucial to comprehend how this message develops.

This warning appears on your vehicle’s dashboard when the parking lamp system has malfunctioned. It no longer functions since one of the necessary parts has failed.

For instance, it can be a faulty switch or a blown bulb. The only way to be certain is to have your BMW’s “parking lamp malfunction” evaluated for the reasons listed below.

On a BMW, where is the parking light?

The other night, I had a breakdown on the side of the road and had to wait in the pitch black for a tow truck, which cost me a pretty penny. To make my car more apparent and prevent a collision, I wanted to switch on my parking lights, but I couldn’t figure out how. Fortunately, I made it home without incident, but how can I switch on my BMW’s parking lights?

In less than two minutes, find out if your auto insurance is being overcharged.

Depending on the model you have, there are different procedures to turn on the parking lights in a BMW, but generally speaking, there are three approaches you should try.

  • Push the turn signal lever up or down for a few seconds until the lights come on with the ignition off and all doors shut. On some models, pushing up or down will turn on the right side parking lights and vice versa.
  • Push the appropriate button on the parking light controls, which are to the right of the headlight controls.
  • Find the headlight controls, which are normally the third position from the left or the first selection after the 0 or off position, then turn the switch to the 1 position.

Parking lights should only be utilized when absolutely essential because they have a tendency to drain your car’s battery. You all need a jumpstart to get going again if left on for too long.

Finally, by getting a car insurance policy that covers towing and labor, you can prevent having to pay a fortune for a tow truck in the future.

How do you switch a BMW’s parking light off?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to disable the parking lights on a 2008 e90 335i pre-lci so that only the angel eyes would illuminate. Does anyone know how to perform this in the car’s stalk settings? If so, would you mind sending me a link or some guidelines?

I had the same question in my head. Only the parking and angel eyes, which appear to be related in some way, were turned off.

1. Move the stalk lever down one position until you see the lock icon and end-push button set.

2. Continue scrolling down until you see the sun with its daylight running lighting on (mine is off already so it has off).

3. After selecting off, push the button at the end of the stalk.

A huge man needs to cry. To laugh at him, you need to be an even greater man, Jack Handey

Thanks… The angel eyes are now off instead of the parking lights after I managed to switch off the parking lights.

On a BMW F30, how do you replace the parking light?

  • On top of the headlight assembly, hidden beneath a protective cover, is the parking lighting.
  • Remove the cover by turning it counterclockwise.
  • The first bulb behind the cover is the parking lamp.
  • Gently insert the bulb and turn it until the plug releases before removing it.

What does a parking light mean?

Sidelights are another name for parking lights. Although they are outside of the headlights and are situated at the front of the car, they are not headlights. Some automobiles feature a comparable set of lights in the rear of the car, but those shouldn’t be mistaken for brake lights.

In the past, when parking lights were controlled by a different car system than the headlights, they had a more significant impact on vehicle lighting. Consequently, parking lights might take over and provide illumination for safe driving if the headlights or the mechanism supporting them failed.

In contrast to headlights’ brilliant white or brake lights’ red, parking lights are typically gold or amber in color.

What does a broken parking lamp mean?

It indicates a problem with your parking lamp. Typically, it would indicate that a bulb was out. But given that you stated that all lights are in working order, the monitoring circuit is having problems. Simply take it in

What are side lights on a BMW?

Because they can be used as an alternative to dipped beam headlights, sidelights were given the appellation “parking lights.” When parking their car in a dark or overcast region or somewhere where the natural light level is too low but not low enough to activate dipped beams, drivers frequently turn on their sidelights.

Do my BMW’s parking sensors work?

Park Distance Control, or PDC, is a system of front and rear parking sensors that comes with your BMW. The sensors keep an eye on the regions in front and behind the vehicle and send out an auditory and visual alarm when they detect a possible obstacle. When reverse gear is engaged, the system automatically turns on. By pushing the Park Assistant button, which is next to the gear level, it can also be manually activated and deactivated. Within the settings menu of the car, the auditory warning volume can be changed.
