For the BMW X3, M Sport Package is now available.
Do you think the third-generation, locally built BMW X3 seems a little… boring? You’re not the only one who feels this way, and BMW Malaysia has heard your pleas for more athletic style.
Today, BMW Malaysia announced the addition of a new M Sport Package option for the only X3 xDrive30i model it sells in the country. With this option, you can give the X3 a sportier look by adding a variety of exterior accessories and matching interior upgrades.
This option equips the X3 with 20-inch Style 669 M lightweight alloy wheels as well as M Sport brakes and suspension, an aerodynamic rear bumper, and gloss chrome tailpipe finishers. Additionally, the high-gloss Shadow Line accents from BMW Individual are applied to the exterior with this option.
Aside from improving the X3’s exterior, the M Sport Package also improves the inside. This option equips the vehicle with a black Vernasca leather interior with blue contrast stitching, a M Sport leather steering wheel and doorsill finishers, and aluminum cabin trims with Pearl Chrome highlights.
Last but not least, there will be four color options for the M Sport Package: Alpine White, Carbon Black, Glacier Silver, and Phytonic Blue.
What does it cost to customize your X3 xDrive30i, then? The X3 xDrive30i has a basic price of RM313,800, while the M Sport Package option costs an extra RM15,000 on its own. Beginning on September 27, it will be offered at all authorized BMW dealerships in every state.
There is some bad news, though, in this. According to BMW Malaysia, there will only be 120 available. Yes, we are equally perplexed by BMW Malaysia’s decision to apply this restriction as you are.
Appreciate what you see? Or would you like to wait and hope that BMW Malaysia instead releases the genuine X3 M?
Trim M Sport
The X3 comes standard in what BMW refers to as the xLine trim. Trims around the headlight, kidney grills, and other details have an aluminum finish. Additionally, 19″ gray Y-spoke wheels are a standard component of the xLine.
For an additional $4,000, you may upgrade your vehicle to the M Sport trim, which comes with different-colored roof-rails, bi-color wheels (still 19-inches), and more decorative bumpers and side skirts. For even more money, you can even choose to equip your vehicle with 20″ or 21″ wheels.
M Sport Package for BMW
The BMW car trim line known as M Sport is named after the company’s Motorsport division. They differ from M Performance vehicles and M Series vehicles (M3, M5, M8, etc.). M Sport is essentially a level created to make the selected model appear and feel like a M series/performance car without the associated engine and racing tune, making it suitable for both personal leasing and business leasing clients. Consider it BMW’s answer to the S Line from Audi, the ST-Line from Ford, and the AMG Line from Mercedes.
M sport is typically thought of as the highest level, but as this blog post will reveal, that isn’t always the case.
What is the M Sport Plus package for the BMW x3?
The M Sport + Package is a new option that BMW has introduced. This upgrade package is available for the BMW 1, 3, and 5 series. Xenon headlights, sun protection glass, a Harman Kardon sound system, and new 19-inch M Sport alloy wheels that are only available on the BMW 3 Series are available as options.
What features does BMW M Sport offer?
M Sport is the bottom rung of the BMW M ladder. Instead than being a special vehicle variation like M Performance or M, “M Sport” is simply an accessory package that can be applied to practically any BMW. The M Sport package is available for even high-end vehicles like the 7-Series, 8-Series, and X7. Depending on the car, the M Sport package may have different items. But at the very least, it offers distinctive outward and interior details. Some minor M emblems, darker exterior and interior trim, bigger wheels, a sportier-looking body package, and a unique steering wheel are among these changes. However, certain BMWs get much more.
M Performance is a level up from M Sport. The insignia on the trunk makes it simple to identify between the two. The M Performance version of the 340i, the BMW M340i, however, will actually read “M340i,” and while M Sport is primarily about looks, M Performance adds real speed. As an example, a 340i with the M Sport package will simply say “340i.” Keeping with the 3-Series, the M340i receives a unique engine from the base model. A 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower is the standard powertrain for the 3-Series. The 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder in the M340i, however, produces 382 horsepower. The M Performance variant still has a manual transmission, but it also includes M Sport brakes, M Sport exhaust, sportier tires, bigger wheels, more selectable driving modes, and a standard electronically controlled locking rear differential.
The quickest and most potent trims are the M Performance cars, although due to the extensive performance upgrades, BMW officially views its M products as unique models. Because of this, official M vehicles lack trim names; for example, the M3 and X6 M are simply badged as “M3” and “X6 M.” And every BMW M SUV and automobile is built with track racing in mind, unlike M Performance cars, which are primarily meant for street driving. Every X5 M and X6 M purchaser has access to training at one of BMW’s M driving schools. Which, given the support the M models receive, is probably absolutely necessary. The most evident is increased strength. Similar to the M340i, the regular BMW M3 has a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, however the M3’s engine produces 425 horsepower. This is increased to 444 horsepower by the M3 Competition. The forthcoming 2021 M3 might have up to 510 horsepower. The M-specific alterations, however, go beyond that.
What does the M Sport package on my BMW look like?
The VIN number is arguably the simplest way to recognize a BMW M Series. Given that all you have to do is look at the first three letters, this method is the quickest and most effective. The WBS prefix is used in the VIN numbers of all BMW M vehicles. The VIN numbers of all other BMW automobiles start with WBA.

What distinguishes X3 M from X3 M competition?
The 2023 BMW X3 M feels and drives more like a sports car than an SUV thanks to its catlike reflexes and excellent power outputs. The X3 M Competition’s twin-turbo inline-six cylinder engine produces 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, which is an increase from the basic model’s excellent 473 horsepower and 457 pound-feet. When you press the pedal and send power spinning into all four wheels, the quad exhaust screams a booming tune. Drivers seeking thrills will find them here, thanks to the sporty exterior appearance as well as the potent performance of the X3 M. There is a large cargo area and plenty of seating space, both carried over from the original X3’s more practical design. The X3 M is known for its excessively hard ride, so a luxurious experience isn’t exactly what’s on the menu here. We advise looking at competitors like the Mercedes-AMG GLC-class and Porsche Macan if you want a performance SUV with more comfort.
