1) When getting out of the automobile at night, Home Lights use the headlights to enhance visibility.
After parking, you can turn them on by pressing the ignition button twice and pulling the headlight flasher stalk once. If the i-drive is turned on, the headlights will then turn on for the designated amount of time.

How does the BMW welcome light carpet work?
Owners of the BMW 7 Series who are also night owls will likely like this small trick, which is standard on all Malaysian versions of the new 7-er.
It is known as the BMW Welcome Light Carpet, and it consists mainly of a light projection on the floor that directs drivers to the front doors of the vehicle.
Although it’s not quite as “welcoming” for passengers in the back seat, the light projection extends to the ground outside the rear doors as well, serving as a puddle light so you can see what’s on the ground outside your car in poorly lit places.
As you may think, the light doesn’t originate from behind the wing mirrors because if it did, a person approaching the automobile would obstruct the projection. As you can see in the picture up top, the projector is really installed underneath the vehicle on the body sill beneath the front door.
Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering, this feature was created. The pattern we see is produced by 150 separate microoptic projectors arranged in a honeycomb array. To lessen the possibility of stone damage, the projectors are shielded by a glass cover and oriented toward the back of the vehicle.
The shape of the light carpet is likely a result of the restrictions imposed by this requirement on the kind of patterns that BMW can design. The projectors will still function, although at a lower brightness, in the presence of dirt.
That pattern is identical to the ecoPro mode display, right? In any case, playing golf at six in the morning is gimmicky but nevertheless good to show off to your friends.
I’m still unable to tell if the car’s undercarriage is home to a puppy or a tiger. I still believe the tried-and-true neon at the base of the car is a superior answer.
Why do welcome lights exist?
When the vehicle is unlocked, the approach lighting is turned on and can be used to illuminate the area as you approach the car.
When the remote key is used to unlock the door, the feature is active. There will be lighting for the parking lights, outside door handles*, license plate lights, interior ceiling lights, footwell lights, and trunk/cargo compartment lights. The illumination in the exterior door handle* and the interior lighting will stay on for a longer amount of time if a door is opened while the function is in use.
Why do the lights in my BMW stay on?
